Does Lauri Get Traded?

If we trade Lauri without the extension there is always the slim chance he signs elsewhere as a free agent next year. He would be cheap for a top level free agent.

Kuminga is 21 years old and still developing. They may choose to keep him, but there’s also a chance UTA really wants him. Kuminga fits better on a young, developing team than a team that’s competing for the championship. They already had issues with his role/playing time.

But how does losing him *help* them in the short term? Or even the longer term (their future would be built on Lauri, him, and Podz)? And if the Jazz largely own their draft, they’re obviously going to be invested in keeping it rolling.

I'm just mentioning it because I would think it would not be somewhere I would want to live with kids. You don't have the beaches of LA or Miami and the big city problems are a little rougher there imo. IDK those areas all have crime traffic etc. I also don't think Lauri is the type to love a big city but that's a total guess and maybe he loves them.

He might want out to begin with, and they can use the assets they saved to acquire other win now players. In any case, it’s not that hard to see why a team like the Jazz would be interested in him. It’s ok if you don’t like him, I’m just saying the cost and picks will be hefty. I felt the same way about RJ Barrett in a potential Mitchell trade.

All I’m saying is that if Kuminga’s value is ~2 unprotected picks, it’s a no brainer that the Jazz should want to take the picks (the Warriors should feel the same about keeping Kuminga, especially since he’s approximately equivalent value in similar trades).

I think if the Jazz had REALLY been interested in Barrett, Donovan would have been a Knick. His worth was overstated

Spur 2025 from Atlanta is pure gold.

2025 from Chicago top 10 protected kind of gold too since they are known for being in the middle, so you will probably get a pick 11-18 in the next year or three.

2027 from Atlanta is again gold.

The Minnesota 2031 is gold.

I can’t see Spurs giving away that Atlanta pick.
