With Dejounte out they are a Trae injury away from being an exceptionally pathetic team. And even with Trae healthy they may be fairly pathetic.

I’d agree….the East is freaking bad though, I think teams who aren’t trying to lose on purpose will find their way to mid. But even if they end up in the play in/close to it…you get way more lotto balls than you did before. I don’t think people have fully adjusted their expectations to that change.

Trae or Jalen… Capela fading and Okongwu is the DNP champ. Trae also prickly and could check out. He’s literally said regular season isn’t interesting to him (or something along those lines). Quin sucks at managing personalities and his glasses are stupid.
I just dont see them getting above the play in and I dont really see them winning while in the play in. Even if it's just the 12th pick, that's still highly valuable.

If we do end up trading Lauri, I will believe that it is because he did not want to sign an extension here.

I mean, I wouldnt be absolutely shocked if the Pistons were better than the Hawks? That feels like a hot take with how bad the Pistons have been, but Bickerstaff is a solid coach and Harris should be solid in Detroit. They got a competent team now with him and Simone as shooters with size next to their athletic young core.

If Lowe didn’t dismiss it twice in the same 10 second clip, I’d be with ya. But the two pieces of info that people said indicated a change (Woj+Lowe)….both of them downplayed it immediately.
Yes they are on national tv and know how this works. If they don’t downplay it then they get calls and pissed off executives… I mean why mention it at all?

Sometimes you don’t get a murder weapon and a dna test when solving a crime so ya have to look at the details.

But all the reporting has been he wants to. Not sure why he would fake it. I think he's at peace with whatever outcome because he knows he's getting paid and will be valued where he goes.

There's always semen somewhere.

That's exactly right, they are on national TV and know how this works. Is it more interesting to say a fun trade idea is not happening? Or is it more interesting to say it could happen. There's a reason why the news aggregators chose to clip out the parts they did.

To me, "teams are calling but the Jazz ain't listening" is the same message we've heard since last summer.

It's what I'll choose to believe.

I think it's possible, based on reportedly being in on Mikal Bridges, that our FO and Lauri were hoping we could add some pieces to improve the team. When that didn't work out, then maybe Lauri is hesitant to sign the extension and so now we are looking at our options.

That wasn’t the message lol.

I think at absolute worst the Hawks first is still a lottery pick.

It’s a confluence of couple things imo some on his side some on our side.
