Is he really that bad? I think we desperately need a stretch 4/5 with length to throw at teams. Am I pipe dreamin? WTF NOT?

Dude was the No 4 player in the draft and kicked to the curb by the Suns. Now the Bucks have concurred in that assessment.

Bender is bad. At least they didn't pipe dream him like we did Exum

This is a good thought exercise about what we’d be saying about Bender had we drafted him, and how the media talking heads would be playing up all the upside.

His stats for the Bucks G-League team are pretty much in line with Rayjon Tucker's, taking into account their different positions.

Here's what I thought when I watched a recent G-League game of his (one where he had good, strong stats):

    a) he no longer looks as much like a deer-in-the-headlights player as with Phoenix. His BBIQ and on-court comfort level seemed better (though of course this is G-League).

    b) he still has very little toughness and doesn't offer much rim protection, despite his size. If Jazz picked him up, I'd expect it's as a developmental flyer, not with expectations of regular play/production.

I'd much rather have Udoh, if the concern is for the stretch run this year, and I'm not one who's convinced that Udoh offers much more overall than we already have (though I know Udoh would provide defensive skill that could come in handy on occasion).

I don’t think Budenholzer leaves any tasty crumbs.

Yeah but this kid is Bosnian, there ain't nobody from the former Yugoslavia as soft and made of glass as Exum was. Anyway, nobody develops talent like we do either.

Maybe the dude will pan out for someone as he ages. His shooting percentages have improved. But we don't need another bench player who stinks on defense.

My biggest concern with Bender is his switchability.

Too slow? I just like the ability to go from traditional five to stretch five and the ability to go twin towers against the likes of the Lakers.

The Bucks waived him to bring in a bona fide NBA player onto the team to help win a championship.

His ability to do that is one of the main reasons he was drafted as high as he was.

No substitute for experience, no question about that. Still and I get the impression you might agree, it looks like low hanging fruit from my perspective.

Is this accurate? I know he could play the 4 or 5 but his switchability is good? I’ve admittedly never seen him play but he looks big and like he’d semi-lumber and not be that quick.
