Dwill to Minnesota???

If utah got offered this they would really have to consider it.

I love dwill as much as the next fan but look at this value.

4,16,23,Flynn,Rubio

The jazz could run

Flynn,Rubio
Matthews/#9
AK/CJ
#4/Millsap
Okur/#16

plus you throw #23 in there somewhere.

Utah's draft could pan out to being something along the lines of this.

Favors, Aminu, Udoh, Whiteside plus you add Flynn and Rubio so are people really saying

Deron>Favors,Aminu,Udoh,Whiteside,Flynn,Rubio? Mix and match the draft picks however ya like(I did use a highly unlikely scenario but it could happen). Im just saying what it could be. It's not like sloan couldn't help both rubio and flynn one of them could at least average 15/8

The problem with your scenario is that Favors would most likely be gone at 4, Aminu most likely will not be available at 9, Udoh will be gone at 16 and Whiteside could be gone at 23. Rubio would most likely not want to play in Utah. Besides trying to re-sign all these guys in three years would be imposssible. I think I would pass. Instead I draft the BPA or try to move up in this draft. The I would actually use our assets to improve the team (sign and trade for Boozer - get players who actually have shown they can play in the NBA, and then use AK to acquire assets). The other thing the Jazz need to stop doing is overpaying for their own players/quit biddding against yourself (i.e AK, Ostertag, Okur)

Nice discussion. BUt NO.

The number one rule for GM's has got to be
1- Don't trade a star for a bunch of pieces, because the collective pieces will never equal the star.

This rule is slightly ahead of
#2--Never pay a 'tweener max money and
#3 Don't pay a pg max money

So I say you just can't do it.

The ONLY DWill trade I would do is:

Jazz Trade DWill to NJ.

Jazz get LeBron, Kobe, Dwight Howard, Dwayne Wade, Chris Paul, Tim Duncan, and the next 15 1st round pick NJ has, non-protected.

Jazz 2010-11 team:

Paul/DWade/Gaines
Kobe/Korver
LeBron/Miles/Wesley
Duncan/Millsap
Howard/Aldrich/Tomic

I'd think about trading Deron to NJ if they sent Lopez, their 1st and 2nd rounder, and Devin Harris. And if they'll take Memo's deal straight off our hands. Minnesota has absolutely nothing in their hoard of assets that is worth Deron Williams.

I don't know that I'd trade Deron for Dwight Howard or Lebron James. I know, this post probably looks insane.

You rang?

The answer to the question is, of course, yes. You trade Deron Williams.

The trade is predicated on making it a three-way deal, with Darren Collison and the last year of Peja's contract coming to the Jazz. Why is Collison a sound substitute for Williams? Well, look at their rookie years. In nearly identical minutes, Collison outproduced Williams across the board. Better shooting percentage, more assists, more everything. A guy like Collison would be untouchable if not for 1) the presence of CPaul on the same roster and 2) the financial problems the Hornets face. Dropping Williams salary offsets the one year of pain that Peja's contract brings ... besides, Peja could very possibly give the Jazz some solid production from the three point line next season.

The third team in the deal would be one that has cap space and will give a high draft pick(s) and perhaps a really promising young player for Williams and would also take on a turkey contract from the Jazz, like that of Okur. There are lots of teams that have the ability to get creative this year. The Jazz could well end up with a very high draft pick that would net a Favors or a Cousins.

The bottom line is that the Jazz future could get much brighter in a hurry with this one bold stroke. After next season, both AK47 and Peja would come off the books, putting well over $30 million in play for the Jazz.

Thanks for missing me!

I didn't think it was possible but you actually managed to make this proposed "trade" worse, I shouldn't be surprised but the level of......stu...... NM, none the less NO
