What's new

Enes kanter will be traded

Primarily to create a gameplan that works to the strengths of the players on the roster, create lineups and assign players roles within that gameplan that put the players and team in the best position to succeed, to effectively communicate that gameplan to the players, to motivate the players to execute the gameplan (within their roles).

With the consistent effort and execution we're seeing from the players, and the lineups employed by Corbin (including the roles the players have been assigned), it's a little hard to understand why the Corbin hate persists. He seems to be doing a pretty good job from where I sit.

For how many dollars you have sold your soul and love for JAZZ ? I remember last season, when you was always bitching about Corbin and his poor coaching decisions, what have chainged ?

Absolutely. Not one of Ty's strengths. That can be learned though, I'd think.

Do you agree that Ty seems to be doing a decent job with roles, lineups, communication of a game plan, and player motivation? The Jazz executed from start to finish tonight on the road against a team with superior mature talent and familiarity with each other. Game was tied with 2:33 to go (as you've stated).

1. I wasn't "always bitching" about Corbin. I had my gripes, sure, but Corbin deserved more credit from the average Jazzfanz poster last year as well.

2. Corbin is doing a good job this season for the most part. He's improving as well.

GVC I really do appreciate your posts, one of the smartest basketball minds on this board. Do you think Ty can take this team to the next level? Could he ever lead these guys deep into the playoffs?

My premise is that Kanter isn't playing well and with more time on the floor he'll get more opportunity to not play well and help us lose a few extra games. I'm wondering why DL isn't telling Corbin to play certain players more and letting him play the players that help him "win now" instead of playing players that could, one way or another, help us win more later.

But also, you tell Kanter he's going to get his time this year. This year. If he uses that time to execute on our defensive philosophy he'll be part of our "core" going forward. If he won't or can't then we'll try to find a good trade for him this off season.

Gotcha, and agreed. Thanks for elaborating.

I like your attention to "this year" with Kanter being in a contract extension year. Easily one of the best points made this season.

No idea. Unfortunately, I don't yet sufficiently grasp the nuances of team offense and defense to be able to judge how well Ty is doing designing offenses and defenses (given the roster).

He seems to be doing a good job communicating the gameplan, motivating the players to execute the game plan, assigning roles to players and using sensible lineups. Really don't know if that's enough. Given that I've only paid close attention to the Jazz since I started watching in 03, meaning that the only other coach I've followed closely (Jerry) was already well into his career (past the point of basic development), I also don't know how much more growth we can expect from Ty.

If the Jazz let Ty go in the offseason, I wouldn't be surprised if he landed another NBA head coaching job at some point.

I support the tank, but hear me out. Example from tonight:

tie game with 2:33 left. Clipp ball.
time to intentionally foul Jordan. Use a possession. Then, intentionally foul Jordan again.
Instead?
8-0 Clipper run.

In other words, SITUATIONAL COACHING is big.

****in Matt harping wannabe tbh

I'll presume you will understand this, if no one else. Remember that ten minute discussion in your second week of high school chemistry about "significant figures"???

To be able to claim a significant value to your number nine places to the left of your decimal point, you've got to have an actual count of, or reliable measurement of, one part in a billion.

Probably, working for the government and all, omniscience is a cultivated art in your work life.

(j/k?}

may I presume that your "tankometer" scale is oriented with a perfect tank at o%, or are we just failing to execute our game plan still????

Most Europeans would be speaking German... you know what, never mind.
on a side note (and an irrelevant one for that matter);
I do speak German.
That said I am of a Mongolian (=scum-or-scourge-of-the-earth) descent (which you people call Turks) with big eyes and caucasian looks.
I blame my grandpas, who were just too fond of shagging indigenous chicks (Greeks, Slavs what not), for having replaced my slanting eyes and my Charles-Bronson-looks with bushy eyebrows and greasy cheeks.

yeah, speaking of Kanter; Corbin sux!

He is doing a decent job but why do burks minutes go down when he is playing the best ball of his career? Seems odd to me.
