ESPN's Pelton Projects Jazz to Finish Third in the West...

Do you have evidence that the jazz didn't try to get durant in free agency? Do you have proof that the jazz didn't offer gobert, favors, hayward, hood, exum, and Burks for lebron or steph curry?

Maybe they tried hard as **** to "go for it" but the other team wouldn't bite.

If log was running things he would just trade for lebron, cp3, steph curry, john wall, paul george, and get all the best players in free agency and have an all star team. I do like that plan. Stupid Dennis lindsey.

It makes the news when teams trade second round picks. You think they would have ignored an all out bid for something big?

Well I'm certain that every team in the league wants lebron, steph, and durant.
How many teams did you hear about that were pursuing them this past offseason?

I never spoke in degrees of "closeness", you all have been and projected that on me. I made it clear my beef is I want the FO to go for it and either get the damn ring NOW or call flat on our faces and get a top 3 pick because in tired of being "close" every single year.

Living in Blazer country it has been interesting/humorous to watch their FO operate the way you are proposing and mostly fall flat on their faces, fire the GM, hire a new GM, fire the coach, hire a new coach, lather, rinse, and repeat. They seem to be on the way up now but no guarantee they'll continue that direction. Many years they've just spent lots of money and had little to show for it.

How many teams have you seen go from "no playoffs for a few years" to "championship contender" in one year because they swung for the fences spending a bunch of money? Does that ever work out?

Maybe we should be like Houston and kill the team chemistry by signing Dwight Howard.

What's going on with this place? Everyone is angry with each other. I don't like it and it makes my tummy hurt.

I made it clear my beef is I want the FO to go for it and either get the damn ring NOW or call flat on our faces and get a top 3 pick because in tired of being "close" every single year. In fact I made that clear in multiple threads. To me right now the only thing that I would settle for to make this a successful season is losing the championship on a last second shot (the only degree of close I'd accept) or ending up so deep in the lottery we run the risk of setting records going the other way. All because we took some rough chances to make it happen. We all know the moves we made does not make us a true contender. And if you hate me for being the one person to speak the truth that's on you buddy not me. But I'm just tired of every year getting all excited about adding the one washed up guy or young unproven player and patting ourselves on the back because this might be the year that CJ Miles finally turns that corner and becomes MJ, right?

So sure we will win some more games this year and JF will be abuzz with the wet dreams of knocking out the true contenders by some herculean feats of hoops magic, but I do not believe Boris Diaw is coming to lead us to the promised land, not this year, not next, until the FO decides to go for it. If you don't have LA somewhere in your team name you have to take some real risks to get there, that or wait for luck. I'm tired of luck ****ing us in the ***. I'm ready for some risk now.

I'm also not the one who got hostile about any of this. You and closet queen Cy started chucking the insults long before I did. And it's because you can't argue against it all.

Realistically we're not going any further than we have been and I'm done being ok with that.

What's your projection for how many years of mediocrity before the Jazz finally cave and blow it up again? I've got the over/under at 3.

I do not think they will be mediocre. To me there is a difference between mediocrity (fighting for the last playoff seed) and being top 4 in a conference. Even if you are not truly a contender. There are more levels than Contender, mediocre, trash.

Goal should be true contender though.

I think this card will be forced. We have to figure out the Hayward puzzle. If we are doing alright by the trade deadline and think he will stay then I agree with the 3. But if we are doing crappy you could see Hay traded before the deadline so we don't lose him for nothing, which effectively puts us back in rebuild mode. I don't think Favors has what it takes to carry a team on his own so without a Hayward with him we fall off hard.

You said the peak for this season is 45 wins

Care to put it in context or are you just one of those so I know right now to ignore you?

Building a losing team is mediocre. LHM Enterprises refuse to build a winning team because they know the fans will put up with bull ****. It's simply business.
