I'd say it'd be nice to have another longer guy to slow down Kyrie, but it's probably not a great idea to expect a guy who hasn't played in nearly a year to come in and do that. In any case, his body on the court [see what I did there?] prevents Niang from playing, so that's a plus.

Agree to disagree. Mudiay rarely gets to the line, plays a different position, and isn't nearly as athletic and isn't as good a three point shooter.

He is better at scoring in the mid range though and steadier overall on both ends of the court.

They do both turn it over too much.

Regardless of their similarities or lack there of mudiay is putting up good numbers turnovers aside.

I'm not believing Exum is anything but a hologram until he actually steps onto the court. I understand being cautious but this seems excessive. Hope it pays dividends.

I didn’t say they had everything in common.

The major thing they have in common is they both make up their mind about what they’re going to force a full second before they should. Or longer. Mudiay has the tools to get away with this a bit better than Burks, but I hope he can be trained out of it.

I see your point. However I like each of them (one way more than the other) for different reasons none of which are that they make up their minds before they should.

I just think mudiay has been a good backup point guard for us on both ends of the floor in his handful of games so far for us. Nothing more and nothing less. Exum on the other hand has been mostly crappy imo in his many years with us.
I just hope we keep rolling with mudiay when Exum is healthy.
I, like you, do hope that Exum can help the bench if and when he does play though.
