I'll take the Nuggets. Need revenge
This. And frankly, I think House falling into our laps will make a huge difference. If we had had him last year to put on Mann or others it would have been an entirely different ball game. And he has been in winning playoff situations, understands what it takes to win like that. He will end up being a gift from the heavens imo. The combination of Paschall, House, Forrest give us a defensive presence we simply never had before with this squad. I am not expecting a 10 or 11 man rotation, but having one of those guys in our back pocket, or for injury insurance, will make a big difference. The most promising indicator so far for us being able to contend this year is Quin turning over a new leaf last game. If he’s willing to show some responsiveness now then it’s a whole new ball game.
I get a bit concerned about the Gay situation. If you plugged Paschall into that role consistently, then I think you could develop him (within the season) into what you need. Or at least enough so that he can bring the unique components that nobody else can while withstanding his weaknesses.This. Bought one of these and had to go get a truck. Took two loads. Of course, I was missing a piece and they gave me double of another piece.I really hope House gets the run and allows O'Neale less minutes. Royce isn't a bad player, but he's not meant to shoulder the load he's been given. I think of him kind of like how I see people at Costco when they buy a sectional and when 2-3 huge boxes are on the curbside as they stare into their folded-down backseat, they start to realize their Honda CRV perhaps wasn't the best vehicle to get said furnishings from point A to B.
He started the year on fire from 3, but has been pretty bad since those first few games. If he can get back to a respectable number from 3 and provide rebounding, I still like what he brings to the table. Even with his poor shooting and multiple injuries/time off for covid the two man combo of Gay and Gobert is +19 per 100 possessions with a sub 100 defensive rating. It's looking very doubtful at this point

I think House is probably better defending guards and Royce is probably better at defending forwards. So their minutes should probably depend on who we are playing. Also, they can play together for stretches, so it's not necessarily more House has to equal less Royce. I do agree that Royce could be better with less minutes/burden, but don't necessarily think it's a huge problem either.I really hope House gets the run and allows O'Neale less minutes. Watching House navigate screens so easily compared to our other guards gives me huge amounts of hope. Imagine having that in the Denver series to help slow down Murray. It’s crazy dumb we haven’t found someone on House’s level until now. I remember many folks saying how average/below average he is as a wing… if he’s so generic I’m shocked we didn’t add someone like him years ago.I think House is probably better defending guards and Royce is probably better at defending forwards. Agreed. And honestly this is always what I felt mattered most. We can make moves around the fringes but this team will go as far as rudy and especially donovan takes us. Top end talent is the #1 thing that wins championships. Jordan, lebron, giannis, dirk, etc etc. The reason we haven't been able to win a title is because donovan and rudy aren't on the level as those guys. There are exceptions of course. The pistons with billups and hamilton and all those good pieces working together with no real MVP caliber guys. The celtics with pierce, KG, and allen could be put in that category as well. (though I think KG was an mvp level player..... maybe not in boston though idk.)The thing that makes me the most optimistic is the way Donovan and Rudy are playing. As good as they've been in previous seasons, it feels like they're both playing the best basketball of their careers this season.
