It's official - Mitch and GRIII returning to Michigan!!!

“After gathering all the information and sitting down with my family, I have decided to continue my career at the University of Michigan,” said McGary. “There is still plenty for me to work on as both a player and person. Michigan is the right place for me to continue growing, and I am excited about what lies ahead. In a short period of time, this university, this community and all the Wolverine fans have embraced me, and I am truly thankful for that. I look forward to representing Michigan with my teammates and to becoming a leader of this team.”

“I will be staying at Michigan after careful thought and consideration,” said Robinson III. “This past season was an unbelievable journey and a great learning experience for me. I still have a lot of areas to develop in my game, and I am looking forward to doing that at Michigan with this coaching staff and my teammates.”

“It was important we gave Glenn and Mitch, and their families, as much time as they needed to make the best and most informed decision they could with all the information they gathered,” said U-M head coach John Beilein. “We are excited to see them coming back. Both are a joy to coach and their enthusiasm, work ethic and passion for Michigan is second to none. They improved throughout the season and have only scratched the surface of their potential as players and leaders.”

Wow...

Will there be anybody left in the draft? Seriously?

This is truly depressing on another level now...

And it just got worse..

Garry Harris is returning as well now:

Garry Harris:

"I'm looking forward to my sophomore season with my Spartan brothers. When the season was done, Coach Izzo gathered a lot of great information and shared it with me and my family. After talking things over with my parents, it is my decision to remain at Michigan State."

Whoah.... guess what Izzo's "information" is going to say?!?!?! Of course it would conclude with, "Kid - you're better off helping us out and staying 1 more year".

This has to mean we give the keys to C4 next year, see what they've got, if not - grab a decent player along the way.

Told you not to get too excited about these guys. You'll just have to watch Michigan again next year.

Well hopefully next year will be so loaded, there will be decent talent from middle to late first round. At least we'll have 1 pick, unlike the loaded '12 draft when we got absolutely no pick.

Probably not a big loss in the long run, but seeing as we have x2 picks in this draft, it's just feels like we've been cheated a wee bit.

For sure - maybe KOC can pull some magic. We've had a pretty good run of draft pics recently.

This is stunning to me. A projected weak draft with more and more players dropping out. Next year is supposed to be great, but what if this trend of staying in school continues next year?

I assume this has to do with agents telling kids to stay, but I can't figure out why Harris for instance would pass on probable lottery, gaurenteed 8-14 million. What financial benifit could the players get by staying?????

It's Izzo. No question about that.

Izzo was even reported to have told Smart to stay in school for 1 more year. Notice how Harris said Izzo has "gathered the information" for him - as if that's some sort of great service.

Will be interesting to see who OKC takes.

Seems like they would grab a big. There isn't much room or need for a wing, and a PG is just going to get spot minutes.

OKC needs a center. They have Perkins and Thabeet. I'd be surprised if they don't grab one with this hard-earned lottery pick.

If they want a guard to replace Martin or Sefalosa, I think they'd get someone bigger than McCollum, who is basically the same size as Reggie Jackson.

For example, if Oladipo slips to them, I think they'd go that route.......but what do I know.....
