I think GRIII and McGary were probably advised they'd likely go late first-round, and they think there's nothing to lose by trying to improve their stock next year.

As things progress, I bet the Jazz brass are asking themselves if they'd trade Burks and #14 to move up to #8 or 9.

Well in case a team picking around #21 really likes a player, and wanted to get him this year rather than next? Who knows?
