Following potential 2013 draftees

Oladipo was a player UK wanted. He was seen as a glue guy that would push teammates to be better. Obviously he has transcended from that into a more complete player himself. I REALLY like him, but I would be looking at him around 20 and not much higher.

I am going to the Ohio State/Michigan game tonight. Here's hoping the freshman show up and take some of the load off of Trey. Students are already in line...I may be sitting up top of Crisler this evening.

Also, I hear we are wearing the Maize jerseys (very cool) with all maize shoes (potentially not cool). Game is at 9:00 EST.

I've been periodically checking in on this thread and welcome anybody's thoughts about my view:

Marcus Smart sounds like he would fit with what the Jazz are trying to build almost perfectly: he's big, tough, coachable, a great leader/character, a good athlete, takes pride in defense, an excellent rebounder, a good passer, skilled (if not yet fully polished) as a PG. His shooting isn't good yet, but it sounds like it very well could come around during his first few NBA years, while he also develops his floor generalship.

One of my dream scenarios would be to draft him and let him develop behind Mo (or someone like Calderon), who'd be given a 2-3 year contract.

He's approximately a year younger than Kabongo, a year and a half younger than Burke, and two and a half years younger than Carter-Williams. I could see the Jazz falling in love. I could easily see him as as excellent long-term PG for us.

Unfortunately, he's very unlikely to be in our range. If by some miracle, we got an additional first-rounder in the #10 range from some sort of trade, do you think our 3 picks could be flipped for him? Would it be worth it?

I'd just like to bring up a forgotten PG that will probably be available in the latter part of the 1st round if he declares.

BJ Young.

I had high hopes for him coming into the season. He has been in a deep range shooting slump this year, ala Hayward's sophomore year, but he is still shooting a high FG % and is getting good assist numbers.

He is currently in the process of leading an upset against Florida.

If there is a PG who will be better than his draft position, it will be BJ Young or Kabongo.

Young and Kabongo were the top PG prospects before the season started. Interesting how fast things change. I'd still be up for grabbing one of them with the GS pick.
