Nah, Irving was drafted because he put up crazy numbers with Duke. Before the college season started he was projected as the 10th pick overall, so he wasn't hyped up as being the #1 pick pre-College.

Just saying were he was projected by DX coming into the college season. There are other players who get drafted that aren't incoming freshman. I guess living in that UK bubble has damaged that part of your memory.

I'm laughing at the notion that Irving was some unknown but shot onto the scene when coached by K... lol

#1 player does not equal #1 draft pick. You should know that PKM. Also, just for facts sake, he was the #2 player on Scout, #3 on ESPN, and #4 on Rivals. I believe everybody had Harrison Barnes as #1. Most people thought Irving and Brandon Knight were very similar. They were wrong.

If Bledsoe can actually get a degree at Kentucky, I think that says how much of an "academic" institution they really are.

Who said Irving was an unknown? I just said that at the beginning of the year he wasn't being thought of as the #1 pick.

And yes, being coached by K did help. Unless if you're trying to say that anybody can coach talent...and in that case, Cal doesn't get credit for Rose/Cousins/Davis and everybody else.
