Following potential 2015 draftees

Keep in mind, Boston has a real shot at trading up to 11 for Turner (if that's who they're even targeting). Indiana could take a big or Grant at 16 and take a future first from Boston's stash.

The Jazz may be forced to try to trade up to 9 if they want Turner or maybe even Oubre.

Just in case agents were not paying attention last year, the best players play. In one season we say a rookie PG who never played college ball take over the starting position. We also saw a player work hard and breakout and it forced the Jazz to make a decision. The former starter was moved due to bad attitude.

Quin will play the best player. If a player believes they are the better player then they just need to prove it and they'll start. Not many other teams seem to be so willing to do that.

This is a great landing spot for talent that is willing to prove they are the better player.

How would yall feel if Houston traded the 18 and Terrence Jones for 12 (presumably for Cam Payne) and a future 2nd rd pick. Then the Jazz picked up a falling Oubre at 18.

Ok this subject really interests me. Boston wants to move up - leapfrogging Utah. Utah needs to leapfrog their leapfrog to remain in front of them. Boston has the 16th pick to offer. Utah has the 12th pick to offer. = advantage Utah. BUT Boston has other picks too. But so does Utah. What do you think Boston would offer to move up to 11? What would the Jazz need to offer to move up to 11?

Boston wants to move up 5 spots to get to 11.
Jazz would only move up 1 spot to get to 11.
or
Jazz would need to move up 3 spots to get 9.

I'm just wondering what each move would cost?

If the Jazz really care about getting their first choice of that 3rd tier--Turner, Johnson, Oubre--they should offer 12 + something to move up to 9. Those three guys could go 9, 10, 11 respectively, leaving us to pick from the Wisconsin guys, Looney and Portis, though Booker is also possible.

Thing is, 12 + a player + a future first could get the Jazz to 7 or 8.

If Russell really makes stink about playing in Philly, it could shake up this draft at the top. Philly could take Mudiay. The Knicks aren't that high on Russell, though they could take him for another team. Russell could fall to 5 or even 6.

That'd be a great deal for the jazz, even in Oubre isn't there (and he won't be). Do that deal and take Jerian Grant (then ship out Burke).

Oubre has too much potential to fall that far. GMs love potential, lots of teams picking at the end of the lottery are willing to take a chance. But I guess you never know. Besides isnt his stock climbing after doing really well in all the workouts?
