George was a sophomore from a second-rate school (Fresno). The knock on him was lack of consistent effort and some shooting inconsistency. He was 35% from 3-pt. The physical tools were elite though.

OK so right there George already has an edge on Oubre? Does that mean Oubre could have a lower ceiling?
 
For all the talk about Oubre's size and length-- he is basically the same size of Burks, Exum, Hayward and Hood. I haven't seen him play so his quickness might be on a different level.

Can we say that about Oubre though? I don't think we definitively can. Isn't that a knock on Oubre?

I wouldn't worry about his leaping ability. He's not TMac or PG, but he's fiery, quick, long and has pretty good timing and feel, imo. He needs some more core strength, a better handle, and more elevation and consistency on his jumper.

It seems like the modern NBA is starting to favor forwards who can stretch the floor and guards who can get in the paint. Oubre should be able to do both fairly well. He'll be that Trevor Ariza / Robert Horry complementary player.

I admit there's some redundancy with Hood and Burks.

Oubre is by far the longest of that group.
 
Oubre has the tools and I wouldn't be surprised if his vertical is close.

It all comes down to his brain and his heart. Paul George is a good comp if he is a worker and is engaged.

His floor would be a Young Gerald Green... Not that he's that great of a leaper just that he has amazing physical tools and can't figure all the other stuff out.

I could see a team falling in love with him in the top ten and I would not be upset if we took him.

Sometimes when people look they see a difference if a few inches and don't realize how significant it is. That 7' 2" wingspan could wreak havoc on D
