Yet they drafted both Exum and Hood last year, who refused to work out with the Jazz and traded up for Burke the previous year who also didn't work out for the team... The team doesn't care if they want to work out for the team, if they think the player is the best one on the board they will draft him.
Yep. Workouts should be a very, very small part of the evaluation process. When all else fails. . . trust the tape. Workouts and interviews can give insight into their personality and a better idea of mechanical and technical issues in their games, but not really how well they'll play for you in competitive situations. My personal opinion is that workouts should function to drop a guy on your board, but not raise his stock directly.
A. Single. Draft. Spot. Really, that's what passes for a reasonable argument? You guys are reading wayyy too much into things. Utah will absolutely not hesitate to take Frank if they believe he's the BPA.
Workouts I would think have more to do with seeing how a guy does a certain drill you're interested in, or how he responds to instruction, how he competes, responds to instruction, etc. Obviously, given that they've probably watched a metric ****ton of tape I doubt they're learning a whole lot about the abilities of the players.
The argument some people seem to be making is that the Jazz should be offended when a player chooses not to work out for us. In reality, we just can't afford to be so thin
Wow, accurate comment.
.
second players that have never lived here (in Utah) don't know what it is like. players that have usually go away with nothing negative to say. dwill still has a home here and wants his children raised in Utah. I bet Trevor booker would say positive things about Utah.
Good favourite to have as I think he is the jazz favourite tooAs has been said by many, there are a lot of players to like in this draft. I didn't have any favorites. But as the date approaches I find myself pining for Turner more than anyone. Guess I have a favorite now.
TurnerWould you rather have Myles Turner or Kelly Olynyk and the 16th pick?
Here's what I think is likely to happen in the draft for reals:
1 Towns
2 Okafor
3 Russell
4 Porzingis
5 Hezonja
6 Mudiay
7 WCS
8 Turner
9 Oubre
10 Winslow
11 Johnson
12 Kaminsky /Dekker /Booker / Looney
Kind of a worst-case for the Jazz.
