Following Potential 2025 Draftees

oden's problem that everyone knew on draft day is one of his legs was actually 3/4 inch longer than his other leg. i remember this because they said everyone has different lenght legs, but they never saw anyone with that big a difference. i remember because i measured my legs and all 3 were the same length.

Boy oldtimer you got short legs.

Interesting list

Oden - could have been special if it wasn't for his old man knees.

Wiggins - was never mentioned the way that flagg is mentioned.

Simmons - if it wasn't for mental issues he may have been amazing. His way always if he can learn to shoot.

Zion - is amazing and a generational talent. Injuries again have been his down fall and laziness.

Fultz- welk DA saw that Tatum was the prize of that draft. So I trust DA. I don't think Fuktz would have been generational but with out that shoulder injury his career will always be what could have been.

The problem is you need to compare apples to apples and that is tough when it comes to Flagg. He will need a PG that will get him the ball.
The beauty of Flagg is that he projects to be very good defensively and that doesn't rely on anyone but himself. Even Simmons with all his mental issues shooting the ball was an all world defender prior to his back injury.

So Cooper Flagg is the presumptive #1 right?

What's people's guess he ends up better than Lauri?

I know a lot of people want both on our team, but I'm curious what y'all's odds are he's better regardless if we have one or both.

Flagg will be better than Lauri. I think Flagg will be better than Tatum, all things considered.

I can't wait to see this kid play this year. He looks like he will be a solid around player and gives me college Jimmy Butler vibes.

I feel like Harper and Bailey are going to have letdown seasons mostly due to the fact they chose Rutgers. I just don't understand these elite prospects not going to proven places with in place talent/coaching that will elevate them.

I'm probably missing someone obvious, but when was the last time top 5 guys went to a lackluster program and succeeded as a one and done?

Props to them if the succeed, but its such an unnecessary risk

One could argue Anthony Edwards. But your point is astute.

Egor Demin has better feel, advanced timing and ball skills than Buzelis, imo. Whereas Buzelis is a wing, Demin shows real guard skills with the ball and also shows some ability to beat defenders off the dribble. (I'm using Buzelis as a point of reference as a 6'9" wing since people are probably familiar with him at this point.) Shooting and scoring instincts are still a question mark.

I didn't follow the talk of the draft in the US, but we actually had news articles in Norway about how teams were tanking (what a concept, huh?!) to get their chance at the Next Special One™ before the Wiggins draft. The only other time we've seen that is last year.

It's much easier to say that now. Oh he wasn't as hyped as this upcoming guy or if ___ happened he would have been as great as advertised. But the reality is in 2014 90% if this board would have given anything to land Wiggins or Jabari and were fully convinced they would be a #1 and really make a difference. Whether it's skill, mental, injuries, or something else lots of players dont make it. Plenty of guys have the physical tools to be elite.

I'm not saying whoever ends up at the top of this draft won't be great. But odds of landing #1 pick even with the worst record is low. It's also low chances he turns out to be a top 10 player in the NBA.

I'm cool with trying tanking again this year if thats the way it goes. But chances are highly stacked against it working out for us. But it's also highly stacked against us to win a championship regardless of what we do.

From my memory the Wiggins and Flagg hype is pretty similar at this stage. Wiggins wasn't amazing in college and so some of the hype had died down by draft time, but I could see the same thing happening with Flagg as well.

The Wiggins hype was crazy. His stats were pretty damn good in college.

I can’t remember a class I other this much hype since the 2014 draft. Wiggins was one of the most hyped prospects of all time. Parker was right there behind him and several others were considered number one type prospects.

Yeah, Flagg is impactful all over the floor defensively and is more versatile offensively with more ways to score than Lauri has.
You've literally seen him play small, slow HS kids as a massive manchild, and high school basketball is a terrible clown show as it is. Stop it.

Flagg was a super early bloomer physically. In the NCAA, his lack of a first step, extremely shaky jump shot and tendency to bite on every shot fake will all get exposed. He won't be able to handle the ball at the college level, which means that he really can't handle the ball in the NBA.

This is the most overhyped #1 prospect in like 15 years.

No we have seen him play against big, super athletic and elite highschool players. We also just saw him hold his own against actual nba players as a 17yr old.
