Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Is Alijah Martin considered a better prospect than Will Richard? I'm assuming so because one got a combine invite and the other did not, but Richard stood out to me more when I watched Florida.
Who?

Just kidding. I guess it's an eye of the beholder thing because Alijah always stood out to me, but I never really considered Richard as an NBA prospect.

A NBA scout from a lottery team told Rafael Barlowe that Jeremiah Fears is hot right now.

The scout said "I honestly think his draft range is anywhere from 2 through 5. I don’t know if he is going to be around at 7 for the Pelicans."

They continued to say they know New Orleans likes him and so does Brooklyn.

"Pelicans and Nets are the two teams I could see really trying to trade up into the top five."
He makes sense for a lot of teams in the top 5, including us. I wouldn't mind getting him. In fact he is probably my top choice if Flagg, Harper, Tre and VJ are gone. I'm not a fan of Ace and I dont think our current team/culture will be the best way for him to start his career.

If Jamir Watkins from 24 was entering this draft I'd be all about him. His recent season was sort of a disappointment, but that may be because he was just in over his head and in too big of a role. In his previous season he was an elite stocks guy, great rebounder, high assists (for role), and shot nearly 50% from the line.

From what line?

I really hate the Fears-Kyrie comparisons.

-Kyrie has one of the best finishing packages in NBA history, Fears has no advanced finishing moves currently.
-Kyrie is an elite shooter, Fears is currently a bad shooter.
-Kyrie is abysmal at getting to the line, Fears is elite at getting to the line.
-Kyrie is Mr. Glass and a generally terrible person and teammate, causing him to have mostly been a net negative in his career. Obviously this will not be included by most in the comparison, but come on.

Fears is like a really tiny SGA with less skill currently. Not really similar to Kyrie.

Do you agree or disagree with the idea that a smaller player, especially one that is exceptionally strong and athletic, can guard players that are taller than they are?

Only when the team scheme is strong.
This. Smaller players just cannot do much against bigger players, it is just the nature of the game. Against their ground game, how they dribble, getting in passing lanes, all that sure, but when it comes to back to the basket, or catch and shoot or step backs, or even basic pull-ups, there is just nothing a smaller player can do. In jr. high I played like a phenom because I got my height before a lot of the other kids. 20+ pt games were easy as no one could reach the ball and I was fairly well coordinated and somewhat athletic at that age, in addition to already being right at 6 feet. Everyone caught up to me by high school and then it was just did I have the skill, stamina, and agility to do what I needed to do, and luckily I was ok in that category, but I topped out at 6'2" and then in some regards the tables were turned and I was going up against the taller guys. If the team scheme isn't there, no way a 6'2" guard can do much against a 6'8" forward, at any level really. If they are off the charts athletic they can get the occasional spectacular play, like chase-down blocks and such, but otherwise, forget about it. Brunson can't do **** to stop KD one on one.

Try young Damian Lillard without the shotmaking. Lillard used to be good at getting in the paint and finishing.
