RIP Franklin

Franklin got what he wanted. After his one week suspension, he came back "on a mission" to get himself banned. He suck seeded.

Thanks for the laughs, the reps, and the "I can't believe he just posted that" moments.

Another good poster gone. Dang, Franklin, why you do that? (I'm not expecting an answer from you :/ ) You're one of the smartest dudes on the board, guy.

What!?!? Banned forever?

Bloody mods are spending all their time banning people instead of merging Jimmer threads. What a hoot.

Hey Franklin, email me at dezmoynes@hotmail.com if you feel like it. Leave some sort of proof that it's you. I don't check that address very regularly, fyi, but I'd like to know your new disguise.

Get off your high horse. I'm extremely sad he's gone. I liked him as a regular guy (away from JazzFanz) and he was one of my favorite posters to read. He was hilarious. But when you can't follow the rules, **** happens. And he knew exactly what he was doing.

Very sad day. I just learned of this. He was definitely one of my favorites and always very nice in the way he interacted with others.

I often wondered about the person behind the screen-name. Whichever one of these people you were, you will be missed.

Do you know this or just guessing? From what he has said it doesn't seem this way at all.

While you or I might not have any better "facts" on Franklin, and I share your questioning frame of mind, the word on the street is that Franklin is indeed resting in peace and in fact doesn't even want me to beat the drums in here.

Somehow, though, I've been thinking of this old ballad, brought up to date as "Where have all the Franklins gone?":

The thing I find interesting is that, when or if I grow weary of Jazz Fanz I will just take a hiatus. Maybe poke my head in once in a while and say hi. Read up on the Jazz Nation, etc. I cannot picture myself trying to go out in a blaze of glory, or a blaze of whatever.

I wonder, what is the motivation to completely cut those ties, burn those bridges, and go to the trouble and effort of purposefully getting yourself banned?
