While I've certainly done my share of defending Trey over the last year or so I have to say there is a lot of validity to this statement - Last night's game plan and Burke's 21 FGA's were kind of a head scratcher. T-Wolves have no one to defend the post. They lead the league in points given up in the paint. Jazz actually got outscored in the paint last night and scored more points in the paint Monday night against LAC who has one of the best rim protectors in the league.
Look, a win is a win. I'm glad to get them anyway against any team - but if they kept pounding the ball inside last night it probably would have been a cake walk. I kept waiting for the law of averages to catch up with Trey and see him go clank city. Jazz were lucky that didn't happen.
So you are in the spend less camp as a recipe to the title?New York and Brooklyn checking in to ask when all the money they've spent is going to bring them a championship.
Also, LMAO @ Rev 9, thinking we should be impressed with Trey.
Hayward -26 pts
Trey - 26 pts.
Difference is, Hayward only took 16 FGA's.
I truly hope Trey plays himself into a decent trade, but it is going to take a lot for me to think he is actually an efficient player, or one that we should keep long term. I'm in the canp that his antics and limitations actually hurt the development of our other players.
Even if the Jazz were undefeated, many on this board would still be saying that Trey or Kanter or Favors suck. During the Stockton/Malone Finals years if this board had existed, people would be clamoring for Jerry to be fired.

The man underneath you obviously thinks he still has upside. I'm at least encouraged by the work QS is doing with Trey. Harpring noted one of the things they've been working on actually resulted in a basket last night. Trey is never going to be 6'5" or make the all-defensive team. But if he can improve his shooting to the 45%/38% range, he can perhaps be a mid-level starter, and possibly - if Dante develops - one of the best backups in the league. Or a solid trade chip.Trey does suck. One game doesn't a player make.
He had a good game and not acknowledging that smacks of hating for the sake of hating.
He has shown that he can do it. Question now is will he do it enough to matter?
