Game Thread: Utah @ BYU, Sat. 9/21 8:15pm MT, ESPN2

If you read what he has previously wrote and don't believe he has an agenda to push...you are the delusional one. Like I posted above, if you really read this article and think it is fair, balanced, and not pushing one side over another...then the joke's on you.

Oh, I agree--it's clear that he BECAME a BYU fan--apparently BYU fans impressed him whereas Ute fans did not. But he didn't start out with an agenda. At least, I'm willing to take him at his word that that was the case.

I'll call him a liar.

You are telling me that a room full of inmates, listened to the story of a boy who drank alcohol, and gave him a standing ovation? I bet they did that while tipping their glasses of beer in his honor.

He publishes a "fact" that the "snitch" is a HUGE Utah Utes fan, even though no one has confirmed it. And what Ute fan calls himself a Utah Utes fan? Come on.

The chants were louder than LES? Wow, LES must suck if that is true.

If this game is "mormons vs mormons" why did Ute fans mock the HC? Oh, that is right, because us "ALUF's" aren't actually "good" mormons.

He mentions he has no ties to either program, yet all of his articles and books are markedly PRO-BYU. He sure takes a couple paragraphs out of his article to show how terrible Ute fans are, when that has NOTHING to do with the article...UNLESS, you are trying to paint Hadley out as the victim here....(pathetic) and show how terrible Utah is and how Utah ruined Hadley's life, even though it was Hadley that was caught drinking.

BYU checked out "so-called booster" Stocking. Did you know that under the NCAA rules, if you have EVER bought tickets to a BYU game you are a booster? So, I'd bet money that if this guy likes BYU athletes enough to fly them on jets and buy them $500 bottles of alcohol and spend the money for some female companionship that he has bought a ticket or two in his lifetime...But he isn't a booster, because a BYU fan/author said so...

Spencer Hadley had gone to Vegas multiple times, drank multiple times, yet a week before the RIVALRY GAME, he decided to come clean, KNOWING that he would be suspended and not be able to play in the rivalry game, EVEN THOUGH HIS DREAM WAS TO BEAT UTAH (as was mentioned earlier in the article). The email just arrived at BYU as he was on his way to talk to Bronco. Yeah, RIGHT.

You are telling me that Ute fans spat, swore, and ripped on the LDS church at RES, when RES is filled mainly with LDS members, including General Authorities? In comparison, I can show you videos of BYU players swearing at Utah fans/players, BYU fans throwing things at refs (multiple games), I can show you photos of BYU fans assaulting Utah coaches family. Did you guys know that after Benedict published the Utah compliance officer's name (remember, she did NOTHING wrong), BYU fans released all her personal information, and harassed her to the point that she completely removed her presence off the internet because she feared for her safety? FUNNY, everything BYU fan says Utah fan does is in reality, everything BYU fan does to Utah fan! NO WONDER APOSTLES ARE GIVING TALKS ABOUT SPORTSMANSHIP! BYU FANS DON'T HAVE IT! (Remember, the Church could care less what happens at Utah. Utah doesn't represent their Church.)

But keep telling yourself it is Ute fan that does those things...

If you read that article and take it seriously...you are a MORON. I'm sorry. You're stupid. That article is an embarrassment to journalism, and BYU fans should hide their heads in shame. But, no, BYU will continue to act like an idiot and tell everyone it is Utah fan's fault. LOL.

Like Kyle said, it is a shame we won't play you guys for two more years...it is nice to have that auto win on the schedule every fall.

You hate BYU and things associated with it. We get it. You can tone it down a bit now.

It's also clear that he had a big bias when writing this article. He used well worn and BYU biased cliché's as part of the article and came off as a biased writer with an agenda. Not to mention the Cliché he used was a total lie by the guy who started it (Max Hall).
.
Green is maybe taking it too far. But to say he wrote this without a bias is a clear lie. So I do think he is either lying to himself or intentionally lying to try and make a point. I'll say I believe he is lying to make his article credible. Which basically says he is lying with intent.

Why don't we find out from the horse's mouth whether you can be a good Mormon and be a Ute fan?

In your temple recommend interview, has anyone been asked if they were a Utah or BYU fan? Isn't it after the Word of Wisdom question?

Colton? Anybody?

I'm pretty sure that if you're a Chicago Bulls fan you are automatically excommunicated with absolutely no chance of ever being rebaptized.

He was probably lying abouy not being a byu fan but that doesn't make the article untrue.

Maybe these select inmates were in fact touched by the discussions at the fireside and did infact cheer the byu team as a way to thank them for thier time and service

Alright, I finally read that Benedict piece. ****ing LOLed the whole time. The chanting, the crying on Bronco's shoulder, all that ******** about redemption by blasting others with your meekness, etc. High-level comedy right thar.

So basically ute fans think a story making byu look good is all BS and byu fans think it may be accurate?..... shocker

So your attitude is just to call everyone liars? Max Hall must have lied about the beer. This guy must have lied about the beer. I'm not sure if you're also one of the ones calling him a liar about the prison incident, but if so then that's just one more thing you can't accept as reality (despite it being easily falsifiable).

Maybe, just maybe, you should open your mind a bit.

You really believe that Utah State Prison inmates were so touched by the trials and tribulations of a guy that got caught drinking alcohol that one of them started a slow clap and the inmates chanted byu "louder than in any stadium on Saturday"?

Also, if it's just an unbiased article, why randomly bring up how vial Utes fans are?

I asked this before, but what is supposed to be inspiring about hadleys situation? I don't understand what he has done that is courageous. I don't look down upon him for what he did in the slightest, just don't get what "redemption" he has had in the last 10 days. Did people expect him to die or something after he got caught?

Can a byu person please chime in on this?^

Actually, I strongly implied that the very premises by which BYU is made to look good are ridiculous. This has nothing to do with me being a Ute fan. It has everything to do with me spotting garbage when I see it.

Also, Colton liked the quoted text. Hahaha.

I'm also awaiting answers to the same questions.
