That very well may be, but I doubt a move like that would surprise anyone from SAs perspective. LMA has not worked out like they hoped, and they could almost certainly do something better with the cap space. Let's hope nobody bites.

Yep. It sucks, but I've already talked myself into the fact he's probably gone. I was sick at the idea a few weeks ago, but now part of me is a little excited to see what DL can do without him. I kind of like the idea of the Jazz officially becoming Gobert's team. Maybe I'm just going through the 14 stages of grief. Tomorrow will probably be rage.

Shumpert, Frye, Jefferson and 2021 unprotected 1st to NY

Frye and RJ will probably retire anyway. Shumpert only makes about $10 per year. NY saves $15 million per season the next two years. And that pick in 2021 is all but guaranteed to be top 5. LBJ will be gone or on life support.
