Gobert Injured in Practice: Grade II Sprained MCL

I wonder how much of this has to do with all the basketball Rudy played all Summer???

Too much of a good thing... ??

I don't think Grade II sprains are a huge deal, probably like max recovery of about 5 weeks.

It depends. Grade II is just an incomplete tear/rupture. Within grade II is a large range of severity.

Well damn.. I hope he recovers 100% before they run him out there again..

I also hope they call up Jeff Ayers immediately.

Yup. They really need to be smart in bringing him back. Even if he is doing pretty well after four weeks it will take another couple of weeks to build up his strength.

Seems like every time we send someone to the d league they come right back due to another player's injury. It is a conspiracy, and you're all in on it.

Injury or Condition
This injury represents an incomplete (Grade II) or a complete (Grade III) rupture of the collagen fibers which connect the ends of the femur (thigh bone) and the tibia (shin bone).

Cause
The most common cause is an excessive strain applied to the stabilizing ligament on the medial (inner) aspect of the knee during sports, such as skiing and soccer, or as the result of a fall.

Recovery
Expected recovery usually occurs in 3 weeks to 3 months, depending on the severity of the injury, although lingering minor stiffness and soreness for six months is not uncommon.

Oh, 5 weeks seems major to me. This sucks.

I guess you woulda said this no matter who was backing him up, huh? Our depth definitely does not make me feel alright about this injury.

It sucks, but it's not like he is going to miss half the season.
