I like people making the ‘texting an ex-girlfriend’ argument. Boston is coming into town. What’s he supposed to do, ignore Hayward?
All this avoidant nonsense as pretend we don’t care to give off the appearance of a ‘high road’ or some ****.
Because it’s part of the grief process. Everyone always thinks it’s somehow healthiest to jump straight to acceptance. **** that. We haven’t fully checked anger off the list. Oh, and I doubt too much of us are stewing on him (he’s not mentioned all that frequently), but when there’s a reason he comes up, let that hate flow through you. This is sports. No need for maturity lectures. Pure emotion. Why still be bitter?
... out of the blue...
...and I've never been happier. Couldn't happen to a ********, more moronic human being.
Bill Simmons started it off:
Tony "My Hot Takes are Never Wrong" Jones defending Monson:
Bunch of other takes as well that I'll link in later.
Uhh, the ceiling would undoubtedly be higher w/ Hayward and Mitchell on the team together.
Also a what if:
What if we stopped giving a **** about a player that didn't want to be here, go butt-hurt about a bunch of petty ****, never stood up for his teammates--or himself--and has played a grand total of 6 minutes for another team this entire season and what if we only gave a **** about the players that are here and the dope *** **** that has happened this season and the bright future?
fair enough
Every second I spend thinking about Hayward is a second that I can't spend thinking about how great Mitchell, Gobert and Quin Snyder are.
Hayward wasn't perfect as a player, but I really liked his game and it sucked that he left, and left if a way that crippled the Jazz ability to respond. Also, I felt rejected as a fan that he ignored our billboard campaign and that made us look really desperate.
At the same time, I wish that the local media would stop talking about him, especially since he's injured and won't be playing this season because it makes us seem real small time, salty and petty. And it's not necessary, because what the Jazz are doing is such a great story.

This is pretty much what the Trib has become... they try to get as many clicks as possible. I think it’s pretty obvious they’re not going to be around much longer, everything they do reeks of desperation
