Health & Fitness Thread

I have been thinking a lot lately about where I have felt the best in my weight ranges. I think everyone's body has an "ideal" weight where you feel best and are able to do the most activity. For me, it was always around 190 or so. In the past 10 years, I have spent time at weight ranges from 165 (I was working like 16 hour days living on like $180 usd per month in Asia) to my weight of about 200 when I was in university, to my current "dad" weight of 235-240. Definitely felt like underweight was as bad as overweight for me, as both of them leave me with less energy and drive for physical activity. I am ready to prioritize being healthy again though, and I am really excited about that.

Yeah my comfortable weight is 165, I can eat what I want with not much exercise and I'd be able to stay at that weight pretty comfortably. But I've always had it at the back of my mind that I was not as healthy as I could be, I'd always had this ring of fat around my waist and always on the chubby side.

Now that I'm 143 I'm trying to figure out how to stay at this weight without having to exercise everyday and being able to 'cheat' and eat what I want once in a while without reverting to my old weight. I'll keep you guys posted as to how I can achieve this.

Vietnamese people seem to do the same thing.

I have a feeling it's something to do with how they pronounce the 'L' sound in their language... In Thai it's the same as the L sound in English so we're OK... the 'R' sound however is a little different so Thai people have issues with pronouncing that.

Dad weight is pretty blah though right? I am not blessed with the best genes when it comes to storing fat. I am not obese, but not comfortable where I am at. I am now up at 5AM as it is the only time that I have to get in some exercise and eating better and only dropping like a pound a week. thinking about quitting this whole eating thing.

The one thing I don't understand about Asians is that they can't pronounce the "L" sound yet half of them are named Lee.

Seriousry what's up with that?
I think you are thinking of the r sound. Most chinese people I know have no problem with the l sound, but they also use the l sound for the r too.

I actually knew a Vietnamese Guy that always said R in place of L. His Last name Lee.(which he did pronounce with an L sound. I don't think I've ever heard it the other way around. Sometimes a W for R.

I've heard that they don't differentiate between the L, R, and W sound. That is that they are all acceptable ways to pronounce the same sound. I don't know if that's true but that is what I have heard.

i dont know about other languages, but chinese seem to always have trouble with r. They don't really have much of an r in their language.
