What's new

Houston, Golden State appreciation thread, yes I said it.... A+ for effort

I agree with you to an extent. But when your stashing cash space and winning less than 30 games in a season, I would say make a change, or spend some money.

Good gawd. We were 43-39 and then decided to rebuild. ONE year of 25 wins.
How many wins did the Lakers and Boston have? Those are teams that "always" contend, right?
What was the trajectory of OKC. Care to cite their record during their rebuilding years?

Ive been patient since 1989. Just to bring you up to speed, THE JAZZ HAVE ZERO CHAMPIONSHIPS. How long have you been patient for??

You and fans of 22 other NBA teams.

Since 1989, only 8 different teams in 26 years have won titles (Chicago 6x, San Antonio and LA Lakers 5x each, Detroit and Miami 3x each, Houston 2x and Dallas and Boston). One of the teams you cite, Golden State, has torn down and rebuilt their roster more times than I can count. I grew up in the Bay Area and it was an endless swap of this player for that one. Kudos to the current owner for choosing some stability and trying to let them develop together now. May not work (it didn't for Stockton and Malone), but I applaud him for sticking to his guns and not trading Thompson and the farm for Love.

Utah won a title for me back when I was a little boy. One of the leaders on that team was Ron Boone. I realize the Stars have actually zero to do with the Jazz, but it was fan support of the ABA team that made Battistone believe SLC could be a viable market for the New Orleans Jazz.

Houston? Yes, they won titles in 1994 and 1995, the years we were all thinking Utah should have snuck in and won titles while Jordan was chasing fast balls in the dirt.
And the "genius" that is (was?) Daryl Morey. After acquiring all those assets, what has it amounted to? He just got royally screwed. Now what? I think he still has to do the Lin trade. He alienated Lin by putting Melo in his jersey number during the recruitment process. Maybe the Asik deal is rescinded? Match Parsons and he's over the cap. That roster is set and not contending.

I think the Lin reade is a done deal to the Lalers

Maybe the stagnant Jazz can learn something from a few teams around the league that have actually been attempting to build their team into a contender, even if they end up unsuccessful.

Houston started building when they went after Lin, Harden and got D-12. Not to mention attempting to add Melo and Bosh recently.

Golden State making a strong pitch to get Kevin Love as well as numerous proposals to shift things around.

The Jazz??
We kept Tyrone Corbin around knowing that we were not going to offer him a contract instead of firing him in the season like we should have. We hold one of the highest available salary money out of any team in the league, but have yet to get into the conversation of bringing an elite player to the franchise.
**Not saying that we would have been successful***
But,,, we could have made a pitch to Bosh, James, Deng, Love, hell,,, even Ariza. We could have done something!!! Instead we sit and state that we will offer a max to Hayward??? WTH??? This is our plan to get better??
How long do you need to realize that you suck and changes need to be made??? We are hoping that our drafts will work out, while other teams are adding veterans to help their draft picks out.
Quite frankly I would trade Hayward for a new ball boy. Put him on a team with talent and he's a 6th man at best.

....this franchise will be out of Utah within 3-5 years. Don't think Utah people will keep paying good money for a turrible product!

Do you think your position has any merit? Your repeated and blatant plagiarism here on the board has extinguished all of the meager benefit of the doubt people give you. You're a clown and the official jazzfanz jester.
