Kicky wins. No vacation, no Eurovision party. Glad the rest of us schmucks have it so easy.
Ran to the liquor store this afternoon. They have changed their hours so check before you go. Line out the door at least 100 yards long. They are only letting 10 people at a time in. They are not however limiting what you can buy. One woman had at least half a dozen boxes of wine. Another guy had 8-10 bottles of whiskey. People are loading up for the long haul. Cashier said their number one seller right now is Everclear. Can't keep it in stock. You can use it to sanitize your self inside and out.
I was there about a week ago and this old lady was trying to buy up all the everclear. They told her she could only buy 2 bottles. I was wondering if they would just close completely. I'm stocked up but Ill need to refill my stache next week sometime.
There was probably something on Pintrest on using Everclear as a sanitizer. Now everyone wants it.
Man, we filled up an empty five pound plastic container of pretzels with everclear and a ton of juice in college. Drank our faces off. Went to a Trenton Thunder game. I tried knocking the mascot over as he walked seat to seat on armrests. Stole a security jacket as we left. Tried tackling a parking lot lamp post...and woke up the next day at 9:30 in the morning, a half hour before my dad came to take me out, with an “amusement park” named Frank’s Fecesland going down from my dorm room to the bathroom 25 feet down the hall, an index card, by nuggets of poop, every few feet, indicating that particular “ride.”
Frank was my roommate. And college was speeeeec-tacular!
Damn bro. Thats one of them stories that you feel lucky to have even survived lol.

I work in an essential business, and I'm working my normal hours. Just doing it from home, though I do have to go in to do some of the essential physical stuff. My entire department is at home, as well as half the company, so I'll have little interaction during my time at the office.
I'm very lucky, I suppose.
I'm a CPA in the middle of tax season. We just got an additional 3 months until our deadline so a lot of the usual pressure is off. We are considering whether our office will be closed and we will have to work remotely. I'll probably still sneak into the office.
I got a letter from work today that basically let's the cops or whatever know that I work in an industry that is necessary so that I have to go to work.

Next week we will have a nurse at our front entrance full time taking temperatures and we will be sent home if we have a fever.

Question: Are people in the States wearing masks?
I've just watched a BBC news segment about what's going on in the UK and it's supposedly dire over there and yet NOBODY is wearing any masks.
Is that normal?
I'm in Bkk at the moment and EVERYONE here wear masks ... even the street sweepers earning $10 a day wear some sort of masks. I cannot even go out to get the mail and not wear a mask.
For everyone? Fish too?
People in US never wear masks. If you do, they will treat you like a virus. Hope that'a not the case right now

Masks do next to nothing to prevent you from getting sick. They do a little more than that to prevent you from getting other people sick.
Well, we're not shutting down. They are giving us hazard pay, basically. I mean I'm happy to be getting a pretty big temporary raise.
It's that kind of thinking that leads to this...
This is not an effective way to prevent yourself from catching a disease. It just isn't.
