What's new

How much would you offer Malcolm Brogdon this summer?

Hood AND Crowder is better than just Hood. Remember how Haywood screwed us on that sign and trade? I mean I get he didn't HAVE to do anything. But I don't HAVE to cheer for him to overcome his challenges either. I hope he get's traded along with Boston assets to a bottom feeder for cap relief.

I think Hood would have had to go either way... he needed to come to terms that he just isn't a go to guy. He has now bounced around a bit and should be more self-aware.

The biggest knocks on Hood were consistency, injuries (which hurt his consistency), and defense. Those aren't as big of issues if you are the 6th or 7th man and the big bench scoring guard... they are huge if you are the 1st or 2nd option. He will also be paid 7-10M per year... which is just fine.

Hoods defense is bad, his shot selection is bad, he thinks he is a better player than he is... just no to him coming back. If he accepted the role of 3 point specialist off the bench then maybe I could see it. But watching him on the Cavs I don't see it. He's still a chucker with poor selection. Even if he did accept a 3 point specialist role I'm not sure why we would consider it. Korver is better.

The best he's been at in his career was coming off the bench for the Jazz last offseason. Thats the kind of role I'd want him in. He averaged 17PPG on 43% from the field in that role, and I think that's an element that the Jazz are currently lacking in.

U people better get used Dante being the pg. That's what it's going to be. The jazz didnt get Conley cause they didn't give Dante to Memphis. It's pretty obvious in my eyes. The jazz know how good Dante can be. They know more than everyone on this forum

If we lose out on guys like Tobias and the trade market isn’t great... I think we go at couple guys like Bogdanovic in Indiana with contracts in the 13-17M range. I think DM/Exum/Neto/Bargain option can cover pg duties. Get more talent on the wings... watching Royce in small ball 4 role (finally) has helped me feel like we are fine there between him and Crowder... Middleton/Harris would be huge upgrades and I’d be all for it... but if not I think we can still find value in FA... just don’t overspend by acquiring Love... or honestly Conley. Was okay with the trade if we got 3 potential playoffs with him... at this point I’d go other routes.
You da man, man.

Bogdanovic from Indiana also has some fantastic size, he'd be great in a switchy lineup with Royce/Crowder/Exum too.

Someone like Bogdanovic on a reasonable contract is way more appealing to me than overpaying Brogdan or trading for an albatross contract like Love.

Then WTF has he not been able to average more than 19 MPG since his rookie year?
