What's new

How much would you offer Malcolm Brogdon this summer?

While Rubio was nursing his hammy last year, Rozier was helping to lead his team to the East Finals. Sure the guy is flawed, but he is a threat from outside. Both Rubio and Rozier are solid defenders, but I think Rozier is better. I'm sure we could scrounge up some stats to prove either side of that argument, but my opinion is that he is better.

And here goes the GM test - if you gave every GM the chance to have Rubio or Rozier on the same contract, my guess is that a vast majority would rather have Rozier. It's amazing what the threat of taking over a game from the outside can do for a player's value.

So in other shorter words, everything in your post is based strictly on your opinion and nothing else. We can end right there.

Well except he is part of the “spacing” that help spread the floor. Giannis can slash all the way cuz defenders had to worry about him dishing to the perimeter shooters like Brogdon for wide open looks. I don't see why we can't do the same with Donovan slashing. The number of wide open threes Jae is getting this year has been decent. He just gotta knock them down. And it would only help us spreading the floor by bringing a proven shooter like Brogdon.
Brogdon doesn’t have a lightning-quick release. His threat to drive helps open up his shot. If the lanes get clogged, and the defender doesn’t have to worry about closing out too hard, then Brogdon’s effectiveness will take a hit.

Milwaukee’s slashers are diving into an open paint. No Gobert-like presence. Get it?

This isn’t an issue that can’t be overcome; but it’s something to take note of.

If we lose out on guys like Tobias and the trade market isn’t great... I think we go at couple guys like Bogdanovic in Indiana with contracts in the 13-17M range. I think DM/Exum/Neto/Bargain option can cover pg duties. Get more talent on the wings... watching Royce in small ball 4 role (finally) has helped me feel like we are fine there between him and Crowder... Middleton/Harris would be huge upgrades and I’d be all for it... but if not I think we can still find value in FA... just don’t overspend by acquiring Love... or honestly Conley. Was okay with the trade if we got 3 potential playoffs with him... at this point I’d go other routes.

We’ll be trading a 2020 first rounder and 2022 second rounder for Kevin Love.

Nothing. It's a waste of our time we should be spending on somebody else. It would be like waiting for Conley when the other deals are happening.

What is the only difference between all these guys?
- Bledsoe
- Mirotic
- Middleton
- Brogdon
- Lopez

... Brogdon is the only restricted free agent which means he's the only one the Bucks are guaranteed to keep. He's not going anywhere.

I agree with you, but the question wasn’t should we sign him. The question is what would you pay him.

With that said, he shouldn’t just be tossed aside, he’s shown some great potential and he’d fit great next to Mitchell since he doesn’t need the ball in hand as much as a Rubio. Even if the jazz did offer up. Our cap would only be tied up for two days I think. Tell me if that’s not correct.

If he’s willing to sign here, the jazz should go after him.

However, we’re getting Harris! Oh, it’s happening!!

The teams which might be sellers during the draft are:

Miami - they still have some ugly contracts, and they desperately want to be buyers.

Portland - they are another team with bloated salaries. If they get destroyed in the playoffs again, I could see them making moves as early as the draft.

Memphis - Conley will get traded; it's only a matter of when. If they can deal Conley, Parsons, or others they will.

Boston - they are hoping to use all their assets for AD. We should look to see if any of the pieces can be picked up as a 3rd team.

Washington - maybe they consider selling Beal high during the draft. He really is the only asset they have under contract and it looks like another tank year on the horizon. The Lakers will come calling if they lose out on AD. We could be a third team maybe.

Charlotte - they are going to do everything possible to keep Kemba. If they can make deals to pretty up the roster before free agency, they will.

New Orleans - the AD should be completely during the draft. It can be agreed upon during the draft and then executed on July 1.

Forgot we can't trade the non-guaranteed guys.

I’m still intrigued with the idea of going after Thompson. As far as fits next to Mitchell, he fits better than anyone. He would be amazing on the jazz. I think he’d love it here and turn us into a definite contender. Your either going to collapse in on Mitchell and Gobert or stay home on Ingles Thompson and Crowder, new stretch 4 giving Mitchell and Gobert room to dominate. Thompson would also be regarded as our #2 option.

I think we have a whole lot more flexibility in the trade market. If we can use the non-guaranteed contracts of Favors and Neto, that is a massive asset by itself. The teams which might be sellers during the draft are:

You can’t use non-guaranteed contracts, though, unless you guarantee them. We ran into that issue last year with Jonas, Thabo, and Udoh.
