You can’t use non-guaranteed contracts, though, unless you guarantee them. We ran into that issue last year with Jonas, Thabo, and Udoh.
Yep. Forgot about that. Scrap what I said then...

I think what would be more likely is waiting out the first few days of free agency, striking out, then waiving contracts and letting guys be free agents if/when we trade for Kevin Love.I guess we could guarantee Favors then trade him for a bad contract and the other team's pick. I just don't see us doing that to Favors.

We’ll be trading a 2020 first rounder and 2022 second rounder for Kevin Love.
I think our "free agent" targets will be guys that are straight salary dumps like Love or Gallinari.
I’m not saying it’s something I want, just what I think is most likely. Again, when there was all this talk last summer about traded deadline flexibility, people would have laughed if it was suggested we’d trade that all in for Conley (lols DL gonna do way better than that, manz!).Nah. At this point we painted ourselves into a corner and sure as hell better get a meeting or two with free agents before settling on a salary dump. I think we can get 80-90% of the benefit of a stretch 4 by playing Crowder and Royce there. If you can get Harris or Middleton they bring stretch plus creation. Gallo does too but the defense and durability are a problem and he isn’t on the right timeline. I think they may end up keeping him.
Love doesn’t bring the creation I’d want. Obviously a superior player to Royce and Jae... health, age, defense, contract... all are issues. I’d rather get a perimeter guy with more creation and shooting and just use Jae and Royce at 4.

No to both90% of the board is going to hate this, but I'd rather resign Rodney Hood for $10 million per year than max Brogdon. I'd love to see Rodney come back if he'd accept the role he was in last season, primary scorer off the bench. I think he really thrived in that role and he'd make this team better if we strike out on all the other guys.
