    Gross.

Several of my friends knew this guy. I've heard nothing good about him. He seemed like a real creeper who tried his hardest to sound like he was rich and popular. What a narcissistic punk. Have fun in prison...

"What a narcissistic punk" << and I really thought people like this only existed in Law and Order. The killing of the little girl in W. Jordan, the nutcase that shoots people in a movie theater, now this guy. People are just losing it.

He seems to have held GOP rallies at his cabin in Heber which would give him more prestige in order to do his business. Just gross. He just seemed to use everything and anything to put women in vulnerable positions and use them for his own personal gratification.

Again, there are some people I just wish we could skip the whole trial, appeals, wasting of taxpayer money, nonsense and just blow them away. The dude in Colorado and this guy are examples of this.

The world has always been this awful of a place. The internet is just making it easier and easier to see.

This week has been a particularly bad one, though...

I think rapists like thi guy deserve the death penalty. Same with any one involved with pedophilia. Death no second chances, no prison or counseling. They take you out back and cut you in half

He chose the right kind of target. Women in patriarchal religions face too much victim-blaming from their support systems when they are raped.

This is simply not true. People tend to remember and focus on the bad. The world is as good as it's ever been, from any objective way you look at it. And good people/good deeds have always outnumbered and outweighed bad ones. In fact, almost all bad deeds stem from motivation outside of simply doing harm. Self interest encourages moral indifference, for example. But truly evil acts (neuropathy) are relatively rare and don't compare to the tens of millions of people who dedicate much of their lives and resources to help others.

He did, several times. Do you think the police held off on arresting him for months?

Is there any kind of thread you could resist dumping all over with your agenda?

I think once you get arrested for something it is considered something you didn't get away with.

So you're implying that LDS women are much less likely to report a rape than women in general? You're living in a fantasy land.

How many rapes does the typical non-patriarchal society rapist get away with before the police arrest him?

I'm going to go ahead and answer for him: No.

Again, I'll answer for him: Less than patriarchal societies.

When was the last time I commented in a BYU/Utah thread? If you like, I can turn those into discussion of public and private colleges.

Besides, at least you get to turn the argument into being about me, as opposed to addressing what I said. It's good practice.

You play the odds often enough, you get burned. If he had stopped in 2011, he would have gotten away with it.

If I play in one game, I get a 25% of going to jail every time the die is rolled. If I play ini another, it's 5%. If I'm truly rational, I don't play. However, if I'm only semi-rational and convinced I have great dice-throwing abilities, I choose the 5% game.

Not just or all LDS women. I'm sure there are LDS feminists, and there are plenty of non-LDS patriarchals. However, focusing on cultures where sexual contact is considered shameful is a target-rich area.
