It should be sexual assault. A lot like how a male teacher sleeping with a 16 year old female student gets 20+ years and a female teacher having sex with a 13 year old student gets probation. There is a pretty strong double standard in things like this.

I know its cliche but I think the nature of men vs women is at play here. I would assume a male teacher would have to really work on a young girl for awhile to get her to sleep with him. While all a pretty female teacher would need to do is hint that she might be into it and its going down. The courts would assume, whether right or wrong is up for debate, that a male teacher would generally be more of a predator than a female teacher. I agree its kind of lame but it kind of makes sense.

No I don't think that at all. I've said nothing that I'm aware of that should lead you or anyone else to reach this conclusion. I was commenting generally with no particular person in mind and have made no assumptions about what you believe on this topic. If you think I'm wrong, please point out what I said that causes you to disagree.

I wish that were the case. I suspect that many rapist get away with it, for a variety of reasons, one being reluctance of women to bring charges, social pressures, cultural forces, and fears of being humiliated/shamed. For example, there have been reports of wide spread rape and sexual harassment in the military, but with few prosecutions and even fewer convictions. Many of the points the woman makes in the video that you ridicule are, IMHO, good points, without necessarily reaching a conclusion that men accused of rape should not enjoy presumption of innocence before the law and be subject to normal rules of evidence.

Everyone I know agrees that rape is bad and it is done amongst criminals.

Actually, rape/sexual harassment is not limited to ‘criminals’ only, but extends to population groups not normally associated with being ‘criminal’ groups.

Yet those video I posted show woman who accuse other people of commeting a felony and get aware scott free. I think this is a huge issue that no one talks about. Just like the video you side step what I am talking about and talk about rape culture and bring up out of no wear the thousands of woman who are silent about getting raped.

How the hell am I sidestepping any issue?. I’ve not attempted a dissertation on rape/sexual assault here that covers the relevant talking points, but merely commented that I find it interesting how some people don’t seem to get much upset/worked up about the prevalence of rape/sexual assault (which occurs with distressingly great frequency) but get themselves all in a lather for those relatively infrequent cases in which a woman falsely accuses a man of rape or sexual assault.

I merely asked you to point out to me what I said to make you or anyone think that the presumption of innocence and normal rules of evidence don’t apply in rape cases. To be honest, I’m not sure what you’re asking. So, if you’d like to try again and pose an honest question to me, I’d be happy to do my best to answer it. What you did is almost identical to what that woman did in the video in that aspect. You blame me for diverting attention away from rape being a crime. Honestly what you said is the most intellectually dishonest thing I have ever seen someone do on Jazzfanz do and you are the type of person I try to avoid in real life.

I bring up the issue and IMMEDIATELY on the first page of the thread has multiple people quickly jump on the "oh, don't talk about that, talk about how woman are getting raped." Can't I make a post about how sometimes men are the victim too? Do I have to immediately be accused of "being silent of rape."

You can post all you want about men being victims. Believe it or not, I agree that it’s a horrible thing to be falsely accused, which is why I believe firmly in the legal presumption of innocence and the application of normal rule of evidence to rape and sexual harassment cases. My father was falsely accused of sexual harassment by one of his employees, and I have another friend whose career was destroyed by false accusations of sexual harassment. I’m well aware that it’s an important issue, so please quit lecturing me.

I’ve only merely posed a general question, which I find to be an interesting one, and you’ve gone and created an entire fictional narrative about what I said, what I think about you, etc. My advice to you is to take a deep breath, calm down, quit imagining things and move on.

JEJ, you came into this with words of shame for all of us trying to discuss a woman who falsely accused a strong willed, dedicated man of assaulting her.

If nothing else, let's give this guy credit for his faithfulness. Let's all at least try to be as devoted as he is.

Let's also recognize this sexual predator for who she is. Not only did she sexually assault this guy, but because it didn't work she accused him of assaulting her. Luckily he had video evidence or he might be facing a complicated legal battle.

We're discussing this case because it is somewhat unique. We all know that women get raped by men. We all detest it. Unless you want to accuse any of us of either being rapists or abetting

True story. One night I went out for some heavy drinking at a nightclub with a female friend of mine. She drove me back to my apartment to drop me off. When we got there she asked if she could come inside with me and I said I was tired and wanted to go to sleep.

She persisted and i relented and so she came in with me and headed straight for my fridge and started drinking from my box of wine (im classy like that)

So I'm chilling on my couch with her and she starts kissing me. I'm not attracted to her (not bad looking but not good looking either and she was a really good friend and I didn't want to ruin that) so I resist a bit at first but end up kissing her back.

She starts grabbing my dick and undoing my pants and taking her clothes off and I can see where she obviously wants this to go.

Now since I have no desire to **** her and I have been shooting whiskey all night, im not getting hard plus I'm telling her no. I have seen discussions online as well where people are arguing whether or not it is rape if someone simply regrets it afterward, even if they were fully participative during the act. I know this came up in our conversations here too in other threads. I think this is one topic that truly will not simply fit a preset "one-size-fits-all" definition.

Was watching Law and Order last night and it was about a rape. They said that between 10 and 20 percent of reported rapes actually turned out to be someone who feels guilty afterwards or was willing but didnt want their parents to get mad or something along those lines. Now I know its a TV show but I imagine they do some sort of research.

Didn't watch it. Now that I've got kids it literally makes me physically ill to see or hear about child abuse. Whatever happens I hope she gets what coming to her and hope the kid doesn't have to deal with that again.
