He definitely clueless on that one. I'm surprised no one's corrected him.
 
You don't have to be a blowhard or too-cool-for-school in order to point out bad style. After all, style is what that dude gets paid for. It's a bigger blowhard move to say, in effect, "I analyze the things that really matter, so not this."
 
yeah the houdini call gets overuse and used out of context.

boler and harp both have a bunch of annoying phrases:

when someone shoots it "straight away" (meaning, i think, from in front of the ring) and also "belt high dribble"

harpring: "do your homework early" - i think he made this one up. also, "know your personnel... KYP".

This big time.... Boler has a great voice for broadcasting and is a pro. (there is reason why the SEC wants boler to do thier college football games on saturdays)

Yes he says some dumb stuff but think of all the things hot rod said: Gentle push and a mild arc and the cowhide globe hits home, belt high dribble, yo-yo's the dribble, jacknifed it, etc etc.... hot rod said so much nonsensical stuff over and over again game after game also and we all loved it cause he was our announcer while we were growing up watching stockton and malone take us to the finals.

But the worst of the worst is defenately tom nissaulke... I hate him so bad and wont listen when he is on the radio. I have no idea how he has a job.
 
Also..... What is the description of a skip pass anyway?
 
A skip pass is a pass over the top of the defense, from one side of the perimeter to the other. You "skip" the defenders.
