Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

You find a legit star with your own picks.
You find stars where you can. The more picks you have the better chance. We can land Kispert level prospects with mid/late first rounders and still have the opportunity to find a star with the pick (either by it jumping up into the lotto or by finding the next gem).

I'll watch and give Davis a chance but I'm not particularly hopeful there.

Again, greatly underrating Kispert. You cant just find a Kispert in every draft, especially outside the lottery.

Being like "Lol he's just Joe Harris"

Joe Harris is ****ing incredible.

The Knicks/Wolves picks arent leading to stars unless you use them in trades.

I like Kispert as a prospect but you are greatly overvaluing him. Players like him come along every draft and most of the time it is late lottery or outside the lottery.

His ceiling is Joe Harris... he ain't there yet. And yes there are guys at his level in every draft outside the lottery. Not the same archetype of player but at his level. His player type is valuable but 3 and D types like Grimes are more valuable imo even if the 3 part of the equation isn't quite as good.

Joe Harris is very good. He's also like a 5th starter on a championship quality team. We can buy that level of player in FA and have done so with Bogey. Give me the mystery box even though I know it likely is a lesser player than Kispert.

There are not 6'7 players with league average athleticism, a quick shot, not bad on defense, and the potential to be a 40%+ 3pt shooter in every draft.

Post ASB he was shooting 39% on 6 attempts per game as a rookie. The dude is going to be lethal.

I'd be all about Kispert. I think he's Wally Szczerbiak in a few seasons. Perfect type of player for our trajectory. Won't help us win now, but in a few years, should be a key role player with a rebuilt core + would have FRP+ trade value to a contender if we're still floundering.

He's also far ahead of Harris in terms of career trajectory and is a better overall athlete.

Of course progression isnt linear and I wouldn't bet on Kispert having those two absolutely nutty shooting seasons Harris had, but I do expect him to be in the 40% range much of his career.

If you keep piling on qualifiers it gets real hard to discuss. There are players every year that are drafted outside the lotto that are on or above his level with regards to helping teams win games.

I mean if Harris suffered a terrible injury to start his career so it’s pretty tough to compare them.

I think you’re massively underrating unprotected picks 4/5/6/7 years in the future from two of the worst franchises in the last 20+ years.

But if it is the Wiz - we need a **** ton of picks. IMO, at least 3 firsts + 3 swaps, given that we can't get any 2023 assets from them.
Problem is because of the pick they owe to the Knicks they can’t trade any first round picks besides their 2028 1st.
