Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

Interesting. Didn't realize that.

I'm still all about the Knicks. The draft capital there is just unbeatable, plus we know they're a garbage franchise.

Stephen A blew his wad today pleading for the trade to happen. Let's hope pressure/momentum is mounting.
Link? I want to hear him crying because he has all but assumed that Donovan is coming and it sure hasn't happened yet. The have-nots realizing this may not happen is delicious.

He said the Knicks are willing to give up 2-3 unprotected picks of their own but we want 4. The middle ground of a Barrett deal is likely 3 unprotected 1sts plus a protected 1st. I would love to get either the 2023 Dallas 1st or 2025 Milwaukee 1st.
Maybe he said it somewhere else, but I watched the 4 min clip of his today and I never heard him talk about specifics on the draft picks.

SAS should be your favorite person in the world. He's the most prominent sports personality in the world and he's pushing for the deal to get done.

SAS existing is the only thing that makes me think the Jazz have a little bit of leverage rather than it being a dead stare that will result in a season long waiting game until 2023 off-season.

Locke talked about not tearing it down and just retooling around Don today. I am still not a fan of that, but if we did... we'd need something more stable at center. I think we could get Theis from Indiana with just expiring contracts.... so NAW and someone else. I think that might be an interesting fit with Vando as a 4. Just spitballing a duct tape solution here should we say "eff you Knicks we are still going to compete".

Starters:
Don
Mike/Bev
Bogie
Vando
Theis

Bench:
JC
Beasley
Mike/Bev
Kessler/Doke
Fontechio

I mean its not horrible.

I would start having loud trade convos with Indiana on Theis and San Antonio on Poeltl... if you do decide to walk away from talks you can maybe execute one of those trades... if word gets out maybe Knicks come with a better offer.

"Not horrible" is horrible though. Definition of NBA purgatory, aka fan hell. No fun or future in picking #13th - #18th every season.
