Jazz and Knicks discussing Donovan Mitchell trade per Shams Charania and Tony Jones

A prospect all his own is what I’d say. But if we’re using comps he’s in-between Gobert and KD in terms of talent: not as naturally skilled at the game as KD nor as good as Gobert on D. One hell of a tweener.
Good explanation. Not sure he is the guy you build the entire future of your franchise around.

Vic is like the upgrade version of Chet. You watch how Chet does this year to give you an idea of how it translates. lolz at anyone comping him to Exum in any way shape or fashion.

You mean a foul?
Maybe, but he requires a lot space to operate. Just get to the spots quicker than him. He is playing against no one who plays NBA level defense. It is like watching him play in a gym by himself. I think he will crumble with some legit talent guarding him or double teaming.

Hold out until you get at least 3 Knicks picks unprotected. But also... if I can get the Milwaukee and Washington picks at a lower value I might try and finesse my way to improving those picks by negotiating with NOP (they get the Bucks pick if it lands top 4) and Wiz. Like say you get Quickley and turn to the Wizards and say "hey we will send you this awesome combo guard if you remove protections on that pick... would also help you trade other picks if you want". That pick goes from meh to NOICE real quick.

With NO you could get them to remove top 4 protections and maybe snag another pick for sending them Bev for Devonte Grahamn. I know Jose Alvarado cute and all but they could still use Bev next to CJ/Ingram/Zion.

Coming from you, I’m more confident in Vic than ever.

I mean he could be a Dirk/Rudy type combo. At very least a guy that size that moves that well can be a terror on defense. The dribble moves become an issue as guys move under him. He will also have NBA talent around him setting him up and vice versa.

I'm not nearly as patient as Ainge. I just want the deal to get done so we can move on.

I'm at least as patient as Ainge. I don't see why we'd move Mitchell unless we're certain to get a top-10 lottery pick back in the deal. It behooves us to sit back and watch how the season plays out and do our draft research.

I would have tried to move Mitchell before the last draft, but now that this hasn't happened, it's better to wait until next cycle. Hold him until the trade deadline or next draft.

I want to see what he looks like 5 years from now after following the Giannis Antetokoumnpo diet and training regimen.

He looks to have freakish athletic potential like that.
