Utah Jazz Finalizes Coaching Staff


SALT LAKE CITY (June 24, 2014) – The Utah Jazz today announced the five members of Head Coach Quin Snyder’s staff, naming Brad Jones, Antonio Lang, Alex Jensen, Mike Wells and Johnnie Bryant as assistant coaches. Per team policy, terms of the agreements were not announced.

Wow, 5 assistant coaches. Also what a wide range of experiences and probably different view points. Intrigued by Antonio Lang tbh. Looks like Snyder is interested in surrounding himself with guys that have something to prove and the experience to give them a chance.

Antonio Lang is a fellow dukie. I was hoping for Engleland (sp) from the spurs. Well I am glad they are set and ready to work.

The Dolphins, huh? So was he ever accused of harassment in that nasty Jonathan Martin business?

Hiring Lang can only mean one thing: a trade for Lin is imminent.

He's also a Dukie. I looked at the dates Lang was there as a player. It appears Snyder was an assistant to Coach K. during Lang's final season.

I believe Wells is also a defensive specialist.

NBA teams can only have three bench coaches. I expect those are Jones, Maxwell and Lang. Guessing that Maxwell was hired as Snyder's #1 assistant. I expect Jensen and Bryant will head up player development like they did last year. So not really a shock that Utah has FIVE assistants. They had 5 last season; it's all a matter of titles.
