What's new

Jazz trade Devin Harris to Atlanta for Marvin Williams (merged)

Jazz now traded Dwill for Williams, Kanter, Favors and still have the gs pick. Pretty good if you ask me.

Different team, different coach, different style, different Williams. This is the kind of change of scenery move for a guy with loads of potential that often works out very well.

I am optimistic.

Yeah, if the change of scenery is to L.A. or San Antonio.

If you look at this Jazz team, we are long, we are tall, we can shoot from the outside...except Al. The more this team is constructed, the more Al needs to be our sixth man, or gone. The good news is, the more this team is constructed, the less important it becomes to get back anything significant from an Al trade. We could trade him for nothing and still be good. IF we were able to trade him for a starting caliber sg or young pg? Holy crap. We would be a team with all the potential in the world.

ATL obviously had a dysfunctional culture. I think Josh Smith's attitude 180 can speak to this.

I think a starting job as a dedicated scoring option, where he's no longer reserved for purely garbage buckets and transition scoring, can do a lot for a player of his potential and youth will have an impact on his play.

KOC has had his eye on him since the Deron draft. He's has faith in him. Let's face it, Harris was going no where in Utah. His attitude was poor and he only brought it when the Jazz had a shot at the post season. We now have room to play a PG who has a winning heritage and can shoot.

This is a good gamble with limited risk. It could hurt our cap space next season, but we fill a spot that was occupied by CJ and Howard, both players I'm happy to send packing.

This move has potential. Great move by KOC.

Or simply let him expire and have all that cash to spend on a stud FA next year.

Unless we're getting a great player back, I'd rather let him expire...
