Jazz trade Devin Harris to Atlanta for Marvin Williams (merged)

The key here is that the Jazz made their team better and got some value for Harris. A week ago the Jazz had Devin Harris and a TPE. Now they have a PG and SF that complement what they want to do, without tying up their financial flexibility. There are better SFs in the league than Marvin Williams, but the Jazz weren't going to get one of them without giving up more than Harris, and without hurting their flexibility.

I think Marvin is a clear upgrade. Hollinger is a numbers guy. As stated many times in this thread, Marvin played with a bunch of chuckers on one of the poorest run clubs in the league so I think his numbers are a bit misleading. I predict Willaims will be here for quite sometime.

Yes I agree. Plus Hollinger points towards us needing to re-sign Jefferson, Millsap and Mo Williams. There is absolutely no way we'll be re-signing Jefferson IMO. Millsap & Williams - may be at the right price.

I like this trade. Marvin Williams isn't great, but he is a hell of a lot better than any current SF we have.

Now it's time to read through 18 pages of bitching.

Also, now we have 2 #3 picks and a #2 pick. Talk about ****ing (at one point perceived) talent.

Because what we had was working?
Yes. The guys just needed a chance to play together. They never had a training camp, Harris got banged up a bit, Raja was hurt, Howard was hurt. And Watson and CJ missed time. I simply cannot believe KOC is making changes. The team, as is, MADE the playoffs. Training camp and another year together and who knows...the Jazz could have been champs!

KOCBegone!!!!
