Jazz trade up from 30 to 28 and select Tony Bradley

Kenny the Jet Smith said on NBA TV "Tony would have been a top 10 pick next year had he stayed another year".

So we essentially traded #30 and #42 for next year's #10.

I mean that's pretty exciting.

Maybe he goes #10. Maybe he doesn't get drafted. It's a dumb thought exercise by Kenny.

looks like bolomboy needs to work harder

They'll play different positions.

I don't especially like this move.
a) there were several other players on the board that I liked more
b) I think he would have lasted to 30, and I think the 42 had potential of getting a good player.

But I'll trust DL for now.

These were pretty much my exact initial thoughts but I guess we likely wouldn't keep 3-4 rookies so it makes sense.

Assuming we retain Hill (or get Bev), Ingles and Hayward, we have:

Hill, Exum, Neto
Hood, Mitchell, Burks
Hayward, Ingles
Favors, JJ, Bolomboy
Gobert, Bradley

Plus we may use the MLE or something.

I think with a guy like Bradley you really want it. He isn't going to be a big lob threat so you want him spacing the floor on the high post if you arent posting him up. Adding a 3 would make him great in trail situations.

Just speculating because the Jazz were impressed with his shot.

wishing big

Surprised nobody has said it (or maybe I am really just an idiot): he reminds me stylistically (more in terms of body movement, not talent) of older Tim Duncan, a bit.

Watch his Pro Day interview. He makes the comparison himself.

More likely they have no interest in 4 rookies on the roster. And the draft and stash has not really ever worked out for the Jazz with the exception of AK and Maybe to a far lesser degree Neto.

The new CBA gives teams a couple of 2-way contracts which is basically a couple of extra roster spots for guys in the d-league. It's questionable exactly how well it'll work out, but it gives them more options in keeping more drafted players.

Bradley's greatest strength throughout the season was his non-stop motor. He played limited minutes, but his per-40 minute production was exceptional, particularly on the offensive glass at 6.9 per 40, which is the best mark among all players in the 2017 NBA draft.

Seems promising. Not sure where the minutes come from if the promise is delivering, but that's a good problem to have.

I imagine Spurs had a bead on him. Got no problem giving up 42 particularly since we scored Williams Goss at 55. Bet all three stick, but four would be pushing it. Wonder if he gets more minutes at center or power forward.
