The idea is kind of silly, though. If we really want to see Brantley play, why haven’t we? It’s not like it’s hard to give him a couple minutes here and there.
 
It's possible green has made it known he didn't want to be benched while rookies played in front of him, and management could see a rift or bad attitude so they made this move. Quin could not have been in any way happy with the effort he made either.

i mean, would anyone honestly believe that the team chose niang over him simply because niang is a better player?

and we are not a charity organization either. if jeff personally requested to be waived so he could join Lebron in LA and DL granted his wish, this clown needs to step down ASAP before him turning us into a complete joke.

I hope he joins LAL. His addition simply would make them a worse team.

Devils advocate take on this is that the Jazz have seen him play on the Stars, with a much better sample than a couple minutes here or there would have afforded him, while giving Jeff Green a chance to turn his play around.
 
Jeff Green was a horrible defender, Boozer like, without the rebounding. They won't miss him at all. It's much worse when you have the ability but lack desire. Niang at least tries hard, he just isn't fast, or strong, or athletic.
 
To me, the Exum for Clarkson trade was a coup. Everything else is a big question mark. Wouldn't be surprised if Green requested it to go to a top contender as somebody mentioned, because we're not known to be a cut-throat organization. Tucker looks like another thoroughbred with a nice stroke but too small for most power forward match-ups I would think. Have been a defender of Niang, not overly athletic but he does have a nice stroke and a high BB IQ I believe. I just hope there's another move in the works to address our lack of size and defense at the four cause as good a defender as O'Neale is, he's a mouse in the house that teams like Toronto and LA exploit to no end with post-ups.
