One thing I'll never understand is why the refs in the NBA are so old.

We all admit that the NBA is getting quicker, bigger, stronger, and more difficult to officiate. Yet, the refs seem to get older, fatter, blinder, and deafer.
Do we really expect dudes that should be in nursing homes, like Dick Bavetta and Joey Crawford, to be able to adequately run with and officiate some of the greatest athletes in the world?
That's not to say that old people while scary behind the wheel, can't still serve a purpose!
I am not in any way saying he stole the game tonight. (1-14 3pt) and offensive rebounds are what did it but I wonder if anyone has any numbers on Jazz win % when Joey Refs vrs Jazz win % when Joey and Javie are on the court.
The handcheck foul on Williams was one of those calls that makes me question the integrity of the league at times. That could be called on every offensive possession, but to call it at that moment and give Deron his second foul smelled of premeditation.
This is what I really dislike about the NBA. I want it to be called like a man's game. When I go to park we play the sport like it should be played.
There are no hand check fouls. No flops, no ticky tack stuff with me. I wish the NBA would call less fouls, and really only call something when it affects the play.
Light contact even on a shot should be allowed.
I'm guessing the game was as fustrating in person, as it was on TV.

sounds like the refs cost the Jazz the game, based on what you posted.
Crying about officials is weak sauce -- unless of course it's a fumble that clearly isn't a fumble.
It depends on whether it's "BCS class" fumble.
