Fixed. It took me 5 minutes of reading and rereading the posts to figure out that you only moved the commas ,and then another 5 minutes to figure out why. Next time screw with the guy who made the title ,and leave my little blue brain alone. Now I gotta go bust off some caps to take out my frustrations. I think I'll drive by happy's house ,as I saw him over at smurfette's yesterday.
Why do people seem to believe that a good defensive team is unable to be a good offensive team? I don't believe that is the case. I do believe the Jazz decided to start with the defensive focus while they let their younger stars "grow" into their comfort zones in the league, at which time the offense will come (experienced players executing a well designed offense that gets lots of fast breaks due to excellent defense does sound like a championship recipe to me).
So... you're saying playing good basketball leads to wins? Huh. What a concept.
I remember watching the 1st half of Game 6 between the Clippers and Rockets and thinking. . . "Damn. They're both so sloppy." Fast breaks and an accelerated pace work IF you protect the ball and make your shots. It was painful to watch both teams play offense and (what amounted to defense) early on. Like they just wanted to try to outrun each other and totally ignored defense, rebounding and taking good, smart shots.
I much, much, much prefer the Jazz deliberate pace with an emphasis on team defense, rebounds and making each possession count. While Utah had a higher TO rate than I'd like, I think that can be heavily attributed to their collective youth. Give them time to develop (as a team and as individuals) with that same commitment to defense and a better understanding of Snyder's offense, and I think that the Jazz would have shut down both of the teams that I saw in that crap-tastic game.
I remember one guy going on repeatedly about defense wins ,even saying it was the San Antonio's defense that won over Miami (SMH),I said show me one headline saying that ....across the country it was about San Antonio's offensive flow that destroyed Miami's will to win.
( Defense wins. Or maybe not. If Clippers beat the Rockets defensive teams left will rank 1,7,15 and 20. Offenses will rank 1,2,4 and 6)
Golden State will be a special team if they can be ranked #1 in defense and offense ,but when you watch them ....it's their offensive execution that is hardest to stop
I know Utah will have a great friggin defense next year BUT the real good teams will still outscore them in a lower scoring game
Ultimately Utah has to get better in offense to win those lower scoring games
3pt shooting is so important. you gotta have at least 4 legit 3pt shooters who can play decent defense. so basically we need 4 legit 3pt shooters. lol
