I think you'll find that dictators not only tend to get 50%+ in elections, but often close to 100%.
What you mean is in order words, people like to get f...ed willingly. I thought a dictator means someone who does that by force.

All past Jazz history aside, I hope he gets back to the US safely. Nobody should be treated poorly for political views.
No, it means the dictator leaves no alternatives. He jails teenagers for mocking him on facebook, he jails journalists and dissenters for disagreeing, he creates a climate where there is chilling of free speech or straight up punishment for speech against the regime/leader. He eliminates the press that goes against his rule, etc. A lot of the dictators of the 20th century were initially elected/voted for(this includes Lenin, Stalin(kinda), Hitler, Mussolini, etc). I'd recommend the book "On tyranny" Timothy Snyder.
My grandfather was jailed and sentenced to death by the communist regime in my country. His crime? Him and his family refused to hand in their livestock and lands to the communist regime that wanted to nationalize everything. Many were jailed/killed for speaking against the regime. There was a whole apparatus devised by the regime(State Security) of regular people snitching on their neighbors for subversive speech against the regime and the dear leader and everybody knew it... not only were you not allowed to say subversive things, you could even talk with your friends about it, because you never knew who is snitching to the special division of the police forces formed to deal with such dissenters. This is how you get a country where nobody wants to resist and the one that do, get jailed for it. This is how you get elections where the ruling party gets 90%+ of the vote and the rest is left to their sister party that's being kept only for appearance of people having a choice. There really isn't one.
Who cares? God is sending him straight to hell anyway. Might as well file the paperwork an get the process started straight away.
Very good sum up. What country are you from?
Bulgaria.
I made some Bulgarian friends when I was serving as a missionary in Germany in 1990-1991, a young couple who had fled from the oppression in Bulgaria. Great people with a great attitude. They loved to poke fun at themselves, and it took me some getting used to them nodding their heads for "no" and shaking their heads for "yes"! I really regret losing contact with them. Of course, this was pre-internet. I hope they were able to make a great life for themselves.
