Not picking on you - I have tons of respect for you.. This is the 4th or 5th time I've heard this and it's driving me nuts. I have to wonder how and when our standards got lowered to choices between a sub-standard deal or no deal at all. I think Jazz fans should expect more from their team - I know I do.
10 years ago The Jazz traded for a vet center who they then bought out and got a late first round pick. Only that trade was for a malcontent scrub with zero upside - Carlos Arroyo. Jazz just traded a number 3 pick with real upside for the same assets - insane.
Man stop being such a negative ***. It's not far fetched that a quality free agent would like to come to Utah. We have a solid plan for the future, a good coach, and a now tighter roster in terms of working together to become a very competitive team. I believe that DL will be active during this off season. What were you expecting him to say anyway? 'Yes guys I screwed up, now what do I do'
I swear, none of you watch euro-ball.
You know a lot about how to quote stats and stuff, and the salary cap and all that, but I really question your player judgment. In my mind, if gvc says don't go get s player, the jazz should get him. You thought Babbitt would be better than Hayward, and now you say you aren't high on exum or Gobert. I get that you don't think exum is great, I mean, what has he shown? But how can you not like Gobert? He is literally the top rim protector in the league right now. He is athletic, and has unmatchable size. Not only does he have those very rare gifts, but unlike kanter, he has a brain.
If you think that DL has bungled this situation, explain what you would have done? Would you have traded kanter earlier? Because then it would appear that you are giving up on an asset too soon. Would you rather have never taken a couple second round picks for a rental of Novak that had a slim chance if working out?
You seem very sure of yourself in this, but don't really supply any other answers than you think Lindsay is a lazy gm.
Kanter was another casualty of the Ty/KOC era. He was soured early, having to play behind 3 bigs his 2 years. He knew it too, just look at his face on draft night, he doesn't look stoked to me. All the bigs in that draft knew Utah was the worst team to go to due to our roster.

It wouldn't surprise me if Kanter finally breaks out on the Thunder, and I hope he does. Not sure if he would in Utah, I think it was ****ed from the beginning.
Hopefully Trey doesn't fall victim and we can turn the page.
What are you talking about "expect more from our team"?
Another tired narrative. If you are good enough to play you kick *** when you are out there then the coach plays you more. Gobert wasn't given **** and he decided to go out and eat souls and rip the starting job from kanters hands. Kanter is soft mentally.
