Kirelenko in Trade talks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I understand the luxury tax savings to dump AK but we might as well dump AK for an expiring or a less expensive player.

If we plan on simply dumping AK we should at least get a player at a position of need.

Diaw would be jealous of Jose Ortiz's playing time.

You people need to calm down. This only a rumor so far. We know nothing about the details of the trade. What we have so far is media speculation. Let's wait until we have more concrete information.

AK for Diaw would suck though.

In a 4-team trade, of course you try to get the talent you feel you deserve when someone is getting EVERYTHING and you're getting BORIS DIAW. It's the Jazz's job to start kicking and screaming to make this deal be anything but an absolute, across the board loss. The Nets will be stoked just to get Melo and not lose Lopez.

Who knows if it's a giveaway though? I'm sure the Jazz have found AK's market value and Diaw was probably the best they could get. Do I like the move? No, unless we got a first round from Charlotte. But I still don't think AK is a contender difference maker. Yeah, he'll help you win games, but not a championship. Especially in the down-spin of his career.

Cant remember the exact number, but I believe KOC said that the Jazz had a 20-4 stretch in when AK was playing really well. Now I realize that AK is injured a lot, but he is a huge difference maker when he is out there playing well. No, he cant do it alone and yes we have to have interrior defenders who can stop their big me, but I think we should be more patient before we trade him.

I guess KOC was only talking AK up this offseason as a ploy to land Boris Diaw. The man is brilliance personified.

FWIW AK is the only game-changer on the team not named Williams or Jefferson. You can't trade that (and the expiring) for a longer contract and a position of least need. You don't trade game-changers unless you have to or unless you're saving a **** TON of money (which the Jazz wouldn't be).

No you can't look at trades like that. No GM looks at 4 team trades like that. If that was the case than 4 team trades would literally NEVER happen.

Its only about what you give and what you get. Every team looks at it that way. That is why 2 teams can be trading big talent and 2 teams can be trading mediocre talent. Usually the mediocre talent is just to make it financially work and also swap pieces around and see if they fit better. Jazz are the mediocre team to make it work. And we can only look at what we trade and what we get. Nothing else.

You can if said "game changer" is completely unreliable due to his injury history. Many of us were through with AK after his calf injuries last season.

AK is overrated big time. He isn't the game changer that he used to be. He is streaky and injury prone.

Boris Diaw is solid and I would love this trade if he got paid like 4 Million. But since its 9 Million for 2 years....I don't like it. It seems we could trade for a player with a little less talent but a lot less contract.
