Knicks vs Cavs 1st Round Series (Mitchell Getting *** Whooped by Brunson Season 2)

They did not draft him.
My bad. I had forgot the Lakers drafted him. Also thought he was drafted a few spots higher than he was at 7.
Thanks for the correction

A lot of saltiness in this thread for a guy who at worst got us Lauri Markkanen.

Donovan isn't a perfect person or basketball player, but I'm still cheering for him.
Hey, I'm happy he's in the situation he's in now. So is he apparently:

On the Dallas Mavericks, the team that eliminated him from the playoffs
"It could have been anybody," Mitchell said. "I think for me it's just understanding at the end of the day, they're kind of the reason I'm in Cleveland. So I'm thankful I'm here. I'm glad to be here."

Lopo this offseason after the Gobert trade: "Guys let's just focus on the players we have"
Lopo after the Jazz traded Mitchell: Largely absent the entire season, made the occasional appearance (including now) solely to **** on Gobert, who is not currently on the Jazz.

Amazing.
I see that nothing changed much in my absence. There is some comfort in that.

Knicks really dodged a bullet not bringing local golden boy Mitchell back to the Big Apple. Sure he had another sub-par game with - 5/18 shooting and six turnovers, but he’s shown he’s a very capable offensive player in the right situation. But pairing Mitchell with Brunson at the possible expense of Barrett, who’s been huge for them would have been disastrous imo. Even paired with Garland (more athletic than Brunson) just too little in today’s NBA. Hart is the perfect player to compliment Brunson in New York’s backcourt!

For me, as a fan, I’ll always root for guys like Mitchell, Gobert and Conley, but watching them perform for other teams only confirms my contention at the time that they are both flawed Superstars that the Jazz needed to move off from. Somehow Ryan Smith must’ve read the memo (actually a likeminded article that our window was closing) hired Danny Angel and the rest is history.

And considering how close the Jazz came to missing that window, I’d say the Knicks aren’t the only ones that dodged a bullet! Excited for next season - Go Jazz!!!

Brunson is absolutely destroying the Cavs on iso's, got dayumn.

To be fair, defending in college and defending in the NBA are two completely different beasts.

Unless you are Walker Kessler of course, because for some reason he is even better in the NBA than in college. . .
if you think that you didn't see him in college or you didn't see him enough. and that is no slight on his defensive abilities in the nba, just that he was so ridiculously dominant protecting the paint at auburn.

Just watching Buttler carrying his team to victory whow the difference between a good player ( Don) and a real star player..... star player level up when it matters.
Agreed, but to be fair, Donny is still on the younger side and still learning compared with Butler. I was a fan of trading him because it was clear he wasn't going to stick around but he still may become the guy. Go Knicks.
