'07-'08 . That list was posted last summer during July so I'm guessing the '08-'09 numbers will come out around the same time this year - those are probably the most recent numbers.

Anyway, obviously any number comparison discussion will be more relevant in a couple of years. You guys are upgrading, no question about it. And now that it looks like it's going to be just the Pac 12, I think you guys can hang.

Any speculations on the groupings of a Pac 12 yet?

UTAH/Colorado/Arizona/Arizona State/SC/UCLA

Washington State/Washington/Oregon/Oregon State/Cal/Stanford

Makes the most sense to me.

LOL What a homer. If you think for a second that if Utah joins the PAC-16 (or even the PAC-12) and is playing week in and week out against teams like Texas, Oklahoma State, Texas tech, UCLA, Oregon State, Oregon, Washington, etc. and will "likely" be in the Rose Bowl your nuts. Utah is good and they have done well in the few big games they play every year but when you get into a "big boys" conference every game is a big game. For Utah to go undefeated and then win the conference championship as being considered likely, well, you're nuts and more than just a little delusional!

I think it is more likely that Utah will, at best, get to the Rose Bowl once every 10 years which is certainly nothing to be ashamed of.

I agree with your point about the rivalry, just for the record I never had expectations I had hopes these rumors are true, as I'm sure you have had hopes of the Y leaving the MWC and have even mentioned (on the old board) I don't think the rivalry would die either way (if the Y stays in the MWC or goes to the Big12) it would add to it especially if the Y went to the Big12 it would finally garner the respect and national attention it deserves.

What might be interesting is the date they play though. I would guess that the games are going to be at the start of the year vs. the late November showdowns now. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. At least we can be assured that there will be no more snow games.

Wow are you stuck in a time warp or something? LOL!

To bring you up to date, the merger with the Big 12 isn't happening. It will be Utah qand Colorado joining the Pac 10. And yes, I think most unbiased fans would have to say Utah can most definitely compete in that conference. Heck, if they were joining this coming season I would say Utah is the favorite to win it.
 
So if Texas stays and A&M bolts that leaves 9 in the former Big 12. Who fills those spots? Or do they just stay at 9 or bump to 10 or try to get back to 12 again.

If Texas stays, I don't think A&M bolts. They are already having money issues, so they can't afford to pay the exit fee. The only way they leave is if the conference gets blown up and they don't have to pay an exit fee.

If they did leave though, I think TCU is the logical choice to replace them.
 
Oh and this isn't a shot at you Duck, but IF the U does go and it is the PAC12 and not the PAC16 with USC having those restrictions placed on them one has to wonder what that will due to them athletically for at least 2-3yrs as well as Oregon having a little legal trouble with a few of their players being kicked off or suspended, the U could have a shot of going to another BCS game.
Now I'm at work so I hadn't heard how the Texas thing is breaking down as of yet but if they did go and make it the PAC16 well it would be difficult play OK, OK st, TX and TX tech but the bonus would be 2 losses to any of those teams and one could still make a BCS bowl instead of having to go undefeated like in the MWC to hope to get a BCS bowl.
 
A little more on that revenue comparison (Utah/BYU/TCU)...

That year (07) Utah went 9-4 and finished 4th in the MWC. So it is no surprise they weren't that high on the revenue list. The fact that they were within 10 mil of BYU, who was 11-2 and won the MWC, should indicate that the Pac 12 move will put Utah ahead.

Consider that Utah played at UNLV (23,180 attendance), at Colorado State (16,718 attendance), at TCU (25,391 attendance). Replace those games with games at USC/UCLA/Oregon/Cal/Washington/Arizona/Colorado/etc and Utah brings home significantly more money.

Plus, a 9-4 season in the Pac 10 would likely leave Utah in a better bowl than the MWC champ (unless the MWC champ goes undefeated and gets a BCS bid).
BYU was the MWC champ that year (07) and played UCLA (who was 6-7 that year) in the Vegas Bowl. So 9-4 in the Pac 12 would likely lead to even more revenue than 11-2 in the MWC. It would most definitely lead to a better bowl game.

Obviously we're just speculating but I always thought they'd keep all the SoCal schools together and by default group them with AZ schools just out of proximity and not breaking up the Oregon, Washington schools. So I think it will be:

Utah/Colorado/Washington State/Washington/Oregon/Oregon State

Arizona/Arizona State/SC/UCLA/Cal/Stanford
