Seriously, tho, she has amazing taste in music to cover (Cave, Cohen, MacGowan, Brel, Bowie...), and she's just smoky as hell.

Have you given Cat Power's album of Dylan covers a listen? I saw the show at the Opera House, was pretty good.
Its funny how I remember REM as being this huge band and culture phenomenon and then they just disappeared without a whimper.
I don't think I even listened to anything they recorded after they signed that gigantic record deal, myself. Altho the Best Of album they released as part of that was one of the best anthologies I've seen.
