Lauri + Tank

No one gives F about some fines, but if you do things you suggest them to do, you're going to crumble the morale and send this team into a very bad track. Either trade some guys or live with the 31-32 wins this team will get.

You are truly one of the dumbest people here. David Robinson played 6 games that year. Sean Elliot only played 39. Their leading scorer was Dominque Wilkins (who only played 63 games) in his 2nd to last season in the NBA.

I’m dumb? What’s worse, forgetting a team lacked its best players and yet still managed 20 wins or consciously thinking a player who’s averaged about 35 wins per season over seven seasons is a major difference maker?

Or still worse…someone making 92 posts on a message board since yesterday morning?

Dont be daft. Lauri has been "a guy" only for two years, and in both of those years we were an overachieving .500 team before Ainge blew the tires.

Without said tires being blown, Lauri would have been the driving force in two upset seasons which most likely would have resulted in Jazz knocking Lebron+AD and Luka+Kyrie (2022/23) and Steph+Dray+Klay (2023/24) out of the play in.

OK, here's an angle, not saying it's a good one...

Do the Olympics make it more difficult to tank this year? Most of the best players are playing and it might make their teams more cautious with their playing time this year. Especially when they come to Utah where the top players already rest more than anywhere else.

Teams will definitely rest their top guys against us a lot. They did last year and will even more this year.

This roster is far more likely a play in team than a bottom 5.

Lauri's stats the last two seasons proves he is a major difference maker you imbecile.

It is what I said it is.

The tank isnt happening if the team stays as it. A move has to be made to tank. Otherwise we are just going to get a repeat of the last two seasons with our core players being better.
Yes, that’s the risk. That with Sexton, Collins, and Clarkson on the roster the tank with Lauri won’t be efficient enough. That’s why Danny has to make every effort to move these three players. I guess some folks would like to keep Sexton, but for me he is not a starter on our next contending team. He’s been fun to watch, but I think we’d be smart to trade him now (with our focus on the 2025 draft) if we can do it.

If I were Lauri and the Jazz I would try and get the deal done on August 6th, but include a veto option for Lauri for this year. That way if the perfect situation arose that both parties were happy with a deal could still get done.

Lauri is not eligible for any no-trade clause.
