Marijuana: Facts, Myths, and plain old Stupidity.

Your claim to "awesome hallucinations" does make you sound pretty bogus. Marijuana doesn't make you hallucinate.

Ironically, an article posted in this very thread written by Carl Sagan disagrees with you. Again, we're both probably lying. Because, you know, lying about your drug use is SO COOL!

And just for funsies, I Googled, "Does weed make you halucinate". Turns out the world is FULL OF LIARS! OMG!!1

Do you believe that people can drink a Mtn. Dew in order to sleep better? All logic points to "No", but I do it on a regular basis. As for weed, ya, it can make you tired. For ME, it usually wired me. I pulled many all-nighters playing WoW, EverQuest, drawing, reading, screwing, etc. all while blazed out of my mind. So, in short, weed didn't make me tired. If anything, it turned my brain on and made it harder to relax and just sleep.

But I'm probably flat-out lying.
So are you claiming that no matter how much weed you smoke you would never get tired? I am aware that really good weed can wire you if you only smoke a little of it. Try to smoke a whole ounce/QP/Pound/whatever and tell me you don't get tired at some point.

*sigh*

You got me there. At some point, you will make ANYONE tap out.

You win.

I interpret "awesome hallucinations" as full on hallucinations. As in, you can literally see something in full. I guess people could interpret blurred vision, paranoia affects, and closed eyed pattern effects (close your eyes and seeing tie-dye type patterns) as "hallucinations", but I wouldn't.

When the facts are on my side, you are fighting a losing battle. Weed absolutely does make you (and anyone else) tired if you smoke enough if it. This is not debatable, it's a scientific fact.

Completely agreed. If you see something that isn't there and you think it's real, that's a hallucination. If you close your eyes and see a small lightshow while your eyes are closed, similar to what you see when you look at a bright light and then close your eyes, but the world is fine when you open your eyes, that's not an "awesome hallucination" to me. I guess that is open to one's own interpretation though so I never called him on it. But claiming that there is no amount of weed that will make you tired is flat out bull.

I know very few people, but I've known people who have driven while too high. Fortunately, that usually just leads to the driver forgetting where he's supposed to be going and ending up in the middle of nowhere, but it absolutely could be dangerous. No question.
I know we are not seeing eye to eye on a lot, but your intellectual honesty here is appreciated.

Also in the pothead manual: Anyone who disagrees with you about weed never smoked weed or is lying.

I can 2nd the motion of getting lost while driving high. Driving high can be kind of like driving on the interstate for an extended period, you get into a zone were you almost forget you're even driving, yet you are driving perfectly fine.

Different strains do different things. Some strains do not make people tired at all, though most probably do. I grow one that does not make me tired so that I can medicate during the day.

I believe in general most Indicas make people tired and most Sativas do not.

Shhhhhh! Facts have no place in this thread, haven't you noticed?

Not talking about a strain here, talking about THC. Smoke enough of that strain and you will absolutely get tired. I agree that taking a few hits of some strains will not make you tired. Try to smoke a few pounds of that strain and you will probably be passed out long before you get done.

Another great argument by trout. Notice my first post in this thread, lol.

You pointed out that someone is a jackass therefore you must be right.

Speaking of facts, did you read the 2 links I posted? Plenty of facts in those studies.

So does alcohol.

Salty, you do realize that you're... nevermind, of course you don't.

Let's put it this way:

I say that for the most part, pot didn't make me tired. You say that I am lying, and "When the facts are on my side, you are fighting a losing battle. Weed absolutely does make you (and anyone else) tired if you smoke enough if it. This is not debatable, it's a scientific fact." "I agree that taking a few hits of some strains will not make you tired. Try to smoke a few pounds of that strain and you will probably be passed out long before you get done.", which contradict each other. So, which is it? Does pot make you tired or not? Keep in mind that realistically, nobody is going to sit and smoke a pound of pot. (I know reality isn't your strong point, but just play along please.)

As far as calling me a jackass, I'm sorry but I'm not the one in here calling people liars and telling them how wrong they are because they don't have the same beliefs as me. (which is only partly true, because I'm telling you that you're wrong, but not because of my beliefs, but because of actual REAL facts.)

So does alcohol.
Yeah, I agree. But alcohol impairs you a whole lot more than marijuana before that point. Which is why the study I posted said cops and driving instructors could not even detect impairment in marijuana users after a moderate to high dose, and said their driving risk was similar to someone with a BAC of 0.05% (which is someone who hasn't had hardly anything to drink).

So alcohol will make you pass out, no question about it. But there is no way a cop or driving instructor would not be able to detect any impairment after a moderate to heavy dose of alcohol.

The earlier you harvest also tends to make them less sleep-inducing. An early-harvested pure sativa's going to affect you a lot differently than a late-harvested pure indica. Also, as trout has pointed out, different people react differently to THC. People should keep in mind that Delta9-THC is only one of 66 cannabinoids found in marijuana, and thus different combinations of these compounds will create a different effect.
